A 55 feet long fish has been found in the seashore of Guangdong, China.

According to a local newspaper, the big fish weighs at least 10,000 pounds.

Hwang, a 66-years-old fisherman living in the near area, said he has never seen anything like this in his whole life and that the fish was tied with ropes when it was first found.

Many people have flocked to see this strange specimen since its discovery, although its rotting corpse already emits a foul smell.

The people living in the area think the fish was caught by some fisherman but was abandoned due to its heavy weight, hence the ropes.
Due to the serious decay of the fish's body, it is almost impossible to identify the species, according to the local newspaper. The fish was discovered on April 25th.

Doing a DNA test will sort it out pretty quickly.

Even if it is a completely new species hitherto unknown to science, it can be established what it is most related to.

Looks like a Monsantosaurus, we should be seeing salmon that size soon.
Could also be a Fukushima fillet.

Not good, not good. Not only do we have known species washing up dead (dolphins in the gulf etc.), but now we will have unknown species washing up along side them. Oh well, It will be a boon for Criptid naturalist for a little while anyway................I want to see the bloooop, the leviathan, and the kraken now.

If it is a new species or just a really big known species, I bet this accounts for some of those Chinese sea monster stories.

Yes, that's why I'm trying to find the original Chinese source and a better resolution picture to see if this can be a decomposed whale, like ironsjack suggest it.

The idea of it being a new specie fleeing the water near Japan comes to mind, even more so if it is a new specie...

That would mean more could follow, and we could even see a few other new species because of this...

It certainly does look sort of like a whale. But you would think that life long fishermen who's families have been fishermen for generations would know a whale when they saw it.....

Good find, very close to what we can see...

BTW, I wasn't able to find any related source in Chinese and ibtimes don't gives the original source so, yes, we can reasonably think that this is just a decomposed whale...
