Two Israeli guards were killed when a suicide bomber detonated a charge he was carrying as he attempted to enter the Israeli embassy. Another suicide bomber was unable to gain access to the U.S. embassy, and the bomb he was carrying exploded ouside the embassy compound without injury to any one else but the bomber. 5 other people were injured in a blast at the state prosecutor's office.

TASHKENT (Reuters) - Simultaneous bomb attacks struck the U.S. and Israeli embassies in Uzbekistan as well as the state prosecutor's office in the capital Tashkent Friday, killing at least two people and wounding five.

The action appeared clearly coordinated, days after the start of a trial in Tashkent of 15 suspected Islamist extremists on charges of trying to overthrow the ex-Soviet state in connection with attacks in March that killed nearly 50 people.

Uzbekistan was one of the countries used by the U.S. in their invasion of Afghanistan, and is still used by the U.S. in some capacity to support operations in Afghanistan. Uzbekistan is considered a Muslim country, and the government there has been using heavy-handed tatics in ridding the country of Muslim extremist.

I think it is also reported here: (submission) (war) Blasts rock US, Israeli embassies

Explosion at Israeli embassy:

Two Uzbeks were killed, working as security guards at the Israeli embassy, many more wounded.

Like all Israeli embassies, the site is highly protected by trained security forces, the suicide bomber did not get through security but exploded on the sidewalk directly outside of the entrance of the embassy's building.

All the Israeli personnel were safe inside the building, no Israelis were killed.

Explosion at U.S. embassy:

Two people were wounded in the attack at the U.S. mission, which occurred outside the embassy compound.

blast at Uzbeki general prosecutor's office

Seven people wounded. Uzbekistan's Interior Ministry said that two of the injured were in critical condition

It appears again the holy people of the faith of Islam make a statement. The Soviet Union prior to the its' empire collasping did an excellent job of suppressing the ethnic minority. Now this minority wants total control of the nation. They don't use the channels of poltics to gain this control put brute force. All there endevadors are done in the name of there religious faith. This faith does not have a right to exist until they stop their aggression.

Suicide bombings don't exactly give your religion a good name. Another huge story right now is the Arab Muslim fighters that are killing and raping in large portions of Sudan. If this type of Muslim continues to be the loudest voice for their religion, Islam could end up as a synonym for terrorism.

MOSCOW, July 30 (Xinhuanet) -- A little-known Islamic group on Friday claimed responsibility for the bombings of the US and Israeli embassies in Uzbekistan.

In a posted statement on a website, the group, calling itself as Islamic Jihad Group in Uzbekistan, said it carried out the attacks. Enditem

These guys have to much time. They need to take their anger out while gaming on-line or something. I bet the x-box could help fight the war on terror.

Channel One (Israeli TV) reported, Uzbekistan Foreign Ministry spokesman Ilkhom Zakirov said all three bombers in the attacks were men, and one had identification documents indicating he was an Uzbek citizen.

I think it is imoprant that the explosions come as the first 15 suspects are standing trial for a wave of violence earlier this year, (those attacks had included Central Asia's first-ever suicide bombings) that left at least 47 people dead.

edit: Third casualty in Tashkent suicide bombings is an Uzbeki policeman who was guarding U.S. embassy

Uzbeki security forces are on high alert in capital of Tashkent following Friday`s three suicide bombings

AP: Same group behind Uzbek suicide attacks

Oleg Bichenov, Tashkent police anti-terrorism chief, told The Associated Press the bombings were retaliation for the ongoing trial of 15 suspects - allegedly tied to al-Qaeda - who are charged in attacks four months ago that left at least 47 dead.

"It is connected to the trial and has been carried out by remnants of the same group," Bichenov said. "These are links in one chain."
