Shall be interesting what NKorea does... or not.

S. Korea to conduct live-fire drills on border islands

South Korean marines were set to hold live-fire artillery drills on Tuesday on two islands near the Yellow Sea border with North Korea, including one island bombarded by the North last November, military officials said.

About 10 U.S. military personnel will join the one-day drills on Yeonpyeong and Baengnyeong islands as observers, an official at the South's Marine Corps said.

I would bet that NKorea does nothing since they are waiting for food aid from the US and blowing up their chances with a provocation isn't likely. NKorea needs that food. For 2012 ``year where NKorea is a great nation (
) and the succession.

But you never know with Kim.

Not at all.. S. Korea is conducting drills in their territory. The North does the same thing all the time by shooting artillery into what they percieve as their waters. They also have held exercises near the DMZ in the past.

The North recelty started saber ratteling again, and I think this is the Souths response.

Question though...

Why is it ok for North Korea to threaten war, attack a S. Korean Naval ship, infilitrate the DMZ with special forces, place heavy machine guns on their side of the DMA (which is porhibited), yet when the South holds their own drills, they are the ones being porovocative?

Have we really gone that stupid when it comes to right and wrong (not directed at the poster im replying to, but in general)?

Drill has concluded, NKorea has done nothing. Good news.

if you are refering to the cheonan?
as we saw
the torpedo NOT north korean
so the north did nOT attack the Sk Ship
www.abovetopsecret.com...
If yu are refering to the Cheonan,
how does that work that accusations can so deviate from the truth?
does kim jong il tell woppers like that about you ?
would he be evil if he did?

According to south korean papers the US did use the incident though
to ram through a free trade agreement with South Korea
they needed the bogeyman for that maneuver...
and there was talk of putting something NUCLEAR there too i think

You should probably read your sources before saying they say somthing they dont -

Of course, it would be a leap to come to the absolute conclusion simply on this basis that the cause of the Cheonan’s was not in fact a torpedo by North Korea. What is becoming apparent, however, is that the JIG’s investigation was very hastily conducted and sloppy. These additional findings magnify the need to conduct new scientific analysis for each of the different substances found in various places on the hull.

They dont outright say it was not the North. They ARE saying the investigation was hasty and this can be called into question.

It doesnt excuse the fact that the North has fired artillery into South Korean territory, has infiltrated the DMZ with special forces and heavvy machine guns (which is a violation of the armistice), hacked an american officer to death then crossed back over the DMZ, etc etc etc.

The North holds their war games and exercises, and the South runs there.

I dont see people bitching when the North holds exercises, yet people get all huffy when the South does. Why is this? Are we afraid it might spark a war? Talk about being held captive by fear..

By all means lets hold a democracy to a higher standard than a dictatorship when it comes to self defense.

Also, the war is not over, its a truce right now.
