Poll

This poll was conducted from February 28 - March 5 and it concluded that:

Ennhadha was ranked first with 29%, followed by the PDP with 12.3% and Ettajdid with 7.5%.

For anyone who does not know, Ennhadha is the Renaissance Party which is affiliated internationally with the Muslim Brotherhood. The party was officially legalized on March 1 to participate in the upcoming Tunisian elections by July.

The ideology of the party is:

Islamism: "Leading Islamist thinkers emphasized the enforcement of sharia (Islamic law) on Muslims; of pan-Islamic political unity; and of the elimination of non-Muslim, particularly western military, economic, political, social, or cultural influences in the Muslim world, which they believe to be incompatible with Islam."

Pan-Islamism: "is a political movement advocating the unity of Muslims under one Islamic state — often a Caliphate."

Islamic Democracy: "A democratic state which endeavours to institute Sharia. It is also called as Islamist democracy. Islamist democracy offers more comprehensive inclusion of Islam into the affairs of the state."

Qutbism: "It has been described as advancing the concept of "offensive jihad," - waging jihad in conquest - or "armed jihad in the advance of Islam" (Most prominent proponent was Osama bin Laden)

Salafism: "In the West the term Salafi has become particularly associated with the small minority of Salafis that espouse violent Jihad as a legitimate expression of Islam, the so-called Salafi Jihadis."

So it looks like Tunisia could become a state governed by the Muslim Brotherhood and radical Jihad. How pleasant.
