What is unclear to me is how over 800 personnel can be expected to protect the properties of those they evacuated if there is a danger of being killed in the flood ravaged waters of the levee after the blasts?

Oh I have so many more concerns, NMFZ is at the top, I am going to go sleep and get up a bit later, it may be a long night.

Could someone pull up the website for Cairo Il? It would be good to take a look at the city we are about to destroy first with water and permanently with silt and polluted toxins.

One more link from a comments section of the link provided above:

www.dailyimpact.net...

Where is everyone? This is HUGE news! Do we have to make "Newb" threads on each section of this discussion or find a nice thread like this one and continue to add to it?

If there is a thread we have all moved to could someone link me so when I wake up I can find the best info, current info on this horrible troubling situation?

Hellloooo....

Some really great information so far everyone!
This is ATS at its finest!

We do not need MSM, we have each other!

Everyone deserves Stars for their efforts,
and I will give them out in due time...
since starring is a slow process, I will wait until i have more time.

Currently I am running around like a chicken with its head cut off'
taking care of things around my home (not flood related)
and trying to get as much information as possible on here!

I wanna again thank each and every one of you for your efforts!
Without you, this historic event would go under the radar!
Please continue your efforts to update the world...

Remember its not just board members watching this thread...
Lurkers as well... When people google, hopefully they will get this thread...
Maybe ATS will be seen for what it really is...
People coming together to share breaking news from around the world!

and thanks to freedom12 for educating me on sand boils,
I read somewhere it was a sign of EQ's
but thank you for that information!
Glad its not!!

Pray for everyone in that area!
If you don't pray, do your thing and send those affected your best of wishes and luck!

sorry if i misunderstood, but are you suggesting we're being distracted(OBL death) from a relatively small natural disater, that (no offense) the rest of the world is indifferent to?
theres been far bigger floods around the world recently, why is america so special?

Is there a prospective map of what area will be flooding or affected after the levee is blown up? My husband and I are in disagreement on a few things.

With different threads mentioning possible outcomes with the weight of the water shifting over the NM fault and how saturated the ground is already, explosives near the fault, etc. is there any kind of general consensus as to what is likely to happen? Maybe I just overlooked a post.

My theory:

the reason this isnt being broadcasted...

Didnt those people try their best to stop the levee from being blown?

If the world at large knew of their attempts...

there would be out rage at our government...

instead wait until its blown, wait until the town is gone,
wait until its irreversible...
Wait until there is nothing no one can do...

and then inform the world

Do you have any photos or links to the KY sand boils? I'm in KY as well. If not - no problem. I'm just curious as to where they are/were.

Don’t quote me on it…
But It was farm land near Versailles?
Maybe, my memory sucks…

I saw the sand boils on LEX 18 news a few days back…

But I goggled and came up with this… from a another source

Sand Boils

doesnt look like the pics of the sand boils are on the Ky side...

but it sounds like they are appearing, in that area in Ky. too...

and when I watched the news, it definitely had sand boils on farm land...

hope that helps? but i cant find what i seen on the news, sorry

You are so right. But I am going stir crazy. I have got the shakes and "dt's" from 'jones'ing' for some NON Osama audiovisual media on this dangerous environmental circumstance. But all day long I have had my TV and radio OFF. Every 6 hours or so, I will turn them on to see if there is continual pervasive all consuming domination of slurp slurp slurp, and as I knew, there it be, slurp slurp lick lick, at the PTB KOOLAID.

I had no idea there was any flooding. The MSM is doing a good job on distracting the sheeple

This isnt actually actually very small...

132,000 acres of farm land...

Food Shortage anyone?

Also if this flood gets worse... which its only beginning... Katrina would be nothing compared to the millions that will be effected...

No offense taken... But the Mississippi is the largest river system in America and the 4th largest river in the world after all

The Mississippi River is the largest river system in North America.About 2,320 miles (3,730 km) long.

and is the fourth longest river in the world and the tenth most powerful river in the world.

not really a small disaster by any means...

And also, ------ could these explosion and flood redirect shenanigans possibly set off a big NewMadrid earthquake, as well? Creating an en-mass worst case scenario for FEMA?

is there a map of the "to be flooded areas"?

I live in Mississippi and I'm not gonna lie I have seen and heard about this but have not really paid attention to it due to the other headlines. Well I haven't paid any attention to it if im being honest.

I will have to pay more attention to this unless this is just paranoia moreso than a actual threat of a map changing event.

um soooo the whole state of Arkansas is going to be under water? um why is no one being alerted?

The only mention of this on my local news was this

"More rain expected in this region, (points to area of levee)
Where floods have reached historical levels,
expect it be headlines for later in the week"

So kiddo's its in our hands...

I got to take care of some things
I do not want to!
I wanna stay here with all of you

But don't give up the good fight!

I WILL be back in a few short hours

-Evol Eric

ps... its with regret that there is grounds for this thread to exist...

I don't believe that its actual water coverage...
I hope not...
I've never seen a flood map from them...
so I can't compare it to any others...

but one thing is for certain... if you live in that red area...
and there is a river nearby...
its gonna flood

is it gonna cover the entire stare?
I'm uneducated, thus I cannot give a logical answer

132,000 acres won't cause a food shortage. One mile by one mile is 640 square acres, 206 (and a little bit more) sq miles.
In the big picture that isn't much. 4.8 million in the U.S. alone. www.ers.usda.gov...

Plus is this tillable land, pasture or what?? People have a way of saying "farmland" as a blanket term for everything related to farm and ranch usage.

The real cost of all this is it's another thing to saddle people with in hard economic times. It's the poor and middle class that will be eating the sour grapes as usual.

I am not arguing with you,
you have some valid points...

But did you take a look at that flood map?

132,000 acres alone might not be enough to cause a food shortage...

but glance at that map...

That is a LOT of farm land that is going to be effected...

And I've read a dozen threads/news stories discussing the current food shortage around the world...

Tell me that losing farm land won't effect the quantity of food available?

I hope not, really I do...
Pray that I am full of it!!!
