I understand why lots of people would be skeptical of Obama or almost anyone about killing Osama at this point but I am curious why that one statement by Bhuto is given so much credence? Just because she was later killed it means she was telling the truth?

As I said in a prior post, I would return. Also as I said, I, and many others, do share your pain. Actually, I laugh when I hear of polls that claim disapproval for the Pres, because so much of that disapproval is for not having done enough, not that he's a Marxist!

Obama was elected during a time when corporate influence and govt corruption couldn't be any worse. Political scandals alone! And Ralph Nader has repeatedly tried to warn us. His group, Public Citizen, is still around to keep up awareness.

Combine the above with a deep Great Recession, a wide political divide purposefully created over cultural issues, the mighty resurgence of the fringe right along with its useful political clout, and all surrounded by a global scale never before, then his problems seem insurmountable.

Even FDR was able to have a first New Deal before he was labeled a Commie, by some in his own party. Obama was labeled a Commie/Marxist before being elected!

You said, "He has no vision." I disagree. Anyone who can nominate Van Jones for environmental adviser has vision; those with no vision were those who were against Mr Jones.

Obama was never the flaming liberal politically that the GOP made him out to be, in order for them to have any chance of winning back power in Washington. Rather, I always found him to be more along the lines of Pres Clinton, from the corporate wing of the Democratic Party.

You know who Republican Party leadership feared most becoming POTUS? Hilary Clinton. They knew that she knew their tricks and would, pardon my French, "bust their balls and kick their ass". Could she have been elected? IMO, no, because at the time she could not overcome the baggage of her past in a campaign for POTUS. Remember, with the GOP strategy of 50+1 %, all you gotta do is dig up the dead salacious and sensational events from the past and turn them into zombies to convince 1% that Clinton shouldn't be POTUS, even thought she was qualified.

Yes, we surely are disappointed, and we have every right to be. But everything we enjoy now came from a past struggle. So we can't have it now, but the door has been left open to walk through in the future. It's a boxing match out there, and a round can change the game.

Save your anger for the fight against corruption and the corrupting influence of corporations in govt. The moment we stop fighting, we lose. Keep the struggle alive.

Oh, and, yes, I cringed when candidate Obama compared himself to Ronald Reagan:

He put us on a fundamentally different path because the country was ready for it. I think they felt like with all the excesses of the 1960s and 1970s and government had grown and grown but there wasn't much sense of accountability in terms of how it was operating. I think people, he just tapped into what people were already feeling, which was we want clarity we want optimism, we want a return to that sense of dynamism and entrepreneurship that had been missing.

But, hey, he just might end up being the Left's RR. ....now, really, would any commie/socialist/Marxist even care about entrepreneurship?...sounds to me like he's been given a bum rap by his opponents....but, hey, it's politics GOP American style...well, I'll just give him my 2c, for what it's worth...go bb and ka in this round.

Horus,

If what was done these last 28 months I would hate to see what kind of nation you'd lead. You'd run us straight into the ground.

I've done TPTB type work and do trust that what Obama has done is great for this nation and this is from someone whose seen what really goes on.

Hey, where can I buy those items from your home town and have them shipped via modern methods to my house? I would love to support small business, local entrepreneurship, capitalism, free markets. Oh...oh, dear....I'm sorry.... my purse seems to have been depleted of disposable income

I used to buy those things, but I've had to spend my money elsewhere. My middle class income remained the same as costs went up over the years. I had to fork over more and more for housing, insurance, health care, energy, food, education, car loans...nope, no more disposable income to buy products or services from a small business like in your home town.

In fact, WalMart has noticed their customers are not spending as much. I'll bet the top 1-2% can continue to buy, as they are the only ones in this country who have benefited from the wealth created by globalization. Man, think how much more those small businesses could sell if the middle class still had their wealth and disposable income intact!

Three decades of increasing corruption, corporate influence, "starving the beast" and tilting the economic playing field has gotten some people somewhere and the rest of us left running in place.

Well, those home town businesses should ship world wide, then they can sell to Germans, Indians, Chinese, Canadians. lol I have a chuckle at a Chinese Communist buying free world ice cream, pizza, and lobster when I can't....no, wait....I cry....

And the federal govt has nutrition guidelines, but I can still buy your hometown products, unless your local govt says I can't. Oh, but I think there might still be some federal regs re rat poop, cockroaches, and cleanliness for suppliers.

Maybe we can all take a lesson from the Navy Seals. Work together to accomplish a mission. Like making govt work for We the People rather than work for those who would trickle down on us.

I noticed a long time ago that he was a do nothing puppet. How many promises did he make, and what has he actually done?. Didnt he just get into the office cause he had the youth vote? I hope he doesnt get re-elected in 2012.

Obama has let us all down. . .but, what would a McCain/Palin country look like? Sure, give Obama as much crap as you can dish, but at the end of the day, only really dumb, ignorant ATSers would claim that a McCain/Palin America wouldn't be much worse off.

Obama has failed as a leader, but he has given us the opportunity, a window of time, to take out the real bad guys, you can either sit on ATS and bitch about how everything sucks, or you can do something about it. We have a window, it's up to you to break the motherf'er. . .unless, of course, you would rather just sit in your trailer and whine.

I started the thread and despite this alleged killing of Osama, I still think Obama is a do nothing BUM!

BUT, he, compared to ALL the Republicans, is Abraham Lincoln and George Washington combined, plus Martin Luther King.

The Republicans are anti-human neo-fascists. So compared to them Obama is a saint.
That demonstrates more the evil of the Republicans than the good of Obama.

But I am a realist, and understand and accept the premise of the lesser of two evils.

I'm sure he wont get elected for the 2012 election. The public would have to be idiots to make that mistake again.

Obama is a do nothing President

GOOD! Considering his lack of ability and that he has absolutely no executive, military, or foreign experience ... I'm VERY glad that he's spending most of his time golfing, fund raising, and at Michellles weekly Wednesday White House cocktail parties. If he's busy goofing off then he's not playing 'work' and getting us in deeper trouble.

Where is his plan to stop outsourcing?

politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com...

Washington (CNN) – Senate Republicans successfully blocked a bill from coming to the Senate floor Tuesday that Democrats claim would help keep American jobs from going overseas.

Republicans call it nothing more than a pre-election political ploy.

The Democratic bill would have ended certain tax breaks for companies expanding overseas while giving new tax incentives to businesses bringing jobs home.

See above. I can post other measures blockaided by the GOP and their corporate backers.

Why doesn’t he take on the Republicans?

Would you have him disband congress? Short of that he is doing everything he can within the bounds of the power of the President to move the country forward.

The GOP were elected to a Majority in the last election. If the people elected obstructionists and champions of corporate interest, then they must suffer the consequences at least until the next election.

i like the phrase that Obama just reacts. well in my point of view he is juts a puppet president in the history of america. he could not come up with good polices and reforms so far. even with the case of Osama's death, things are mysterious and doubtful. some people are of the view that drama of Osama's death was planned to take favours from US public as election year is drawing near.
read here about Obama's justice delivering statement.

Obama is 1/3 of the government. And in spite of that he's done quite a bit while in office. I wish he could go further but the party of no is blocking every effort just for the sake of politics.

I don't think you're being honest with yourself when you say he's a do nothing president. He's done tons of stuff including healthcare reform, financial reform (both HUGE). He also repaired relationships with the rest of the world. College loan reform, I could go on. You should maybe google things he's done if you honestly don't know. Please be sure to check your bias at the door otherwise you may found a thread just like this one making false claims.

You may not agree with the things he's done but there is no doubt that he's accomplished a lot.

So, are you lying to yourself or to us? I suppose whichever one confirms your bias the most is probably the correct answer.

Of course he is on a lot of things right now, the barak hussein-dick cheney-france led war is raping hundreds of girls a day, they rape them and kill them in lybia irak aghanistan, etc, they are doing a lot of things, bad all of them but they are active,Hillary must be thrilled since she always tries to defend women around the world, maybe when "barak" is on campaign for 2012 all women rights activists are going to give him an award for wpe worst president ever. Why give the presidency to a 40 year old with no experience, makes the USA look like a joke, definitely he is not the real president.

I think the real barak hussein and family are dead and were replaced with doubles 3 weeks ago anyways.

I think what Inforeal meant to say was; Obama is a do nothing "I approve of" President.

What republicans really mean when they say someone like Pelosi or Obama is a do nothing person is that, in reality, they're "Get-er-done" people and the right wing conservative movement can't stand the fact that they are able to accomplish so much despite the obstructionist tactics they have adopted.

Here's a starter list of 244 Obama accomplishments for those who are interested;

An orator of the first degree able to find the words to please the sheep. But you know he pauses very often searching for the right things to say thus that makes him creative with the tongue, manipulative with the word, convincing with the delivery and inspiring with the tone. He plays the masses tune and his extremely deliberate in his self fulfilling desire to survive. What he aint is a man of real chan and progress becuase all he does is talk a good game without true conviction, no how, experience or geniune intent to make a real difference to ordinary peoples lives. His own history depicts the real all promisses, no real change persona!

Mr Obama no Changerama. Fooled the USA people and even his own kind/s!

Good luck USA.
