But then, if you come back from the time machine there will be millions of extra people.
Assuming there was peace, and all those people were heterosexuals we would have millions of extra people.
Israel (assuming it would even exist) would have millions of more people.
Where would we put all those people?
Or maybe we'd have less?
There would be no post-war baby boom.

Perhaps, but the problem was that the Germans at that time had an ingrained culture for obedience and answering to a higher authority, especially those who were in the military.
Many of Hitler's initial supporters were addicts and alcoholics, and a lot of rabble.
Even his henchmen were not rival dictator material.
Perhaps the only one was Ernst Roehm, whom Hitler had murdered in 1934.
Hitler was the only one who took the initiative to lead as the ultimate power.
To me it looks like a case of all or nothing: either there was a Hitler, or the Weimar Republic would have remained, or the communists might have taken control.
No Hitler means no dictator who wormed and intimidated his way into power, and no unified Nazi movement.
I'm not sure one gets a "competent dictator", at least not for long.
They all go nuts at some stage when they start believing their own crap (just like gurus and religious con-men).
