Dude, it's Jupiter.

Far too bright to be Mercury in that transit.

Is it Mercury? Is it Jupiter?

No it's swamp gas that has escaped through the hole in the Ozone layer. Everybody can see that.

*sigh*

It's HAARP, you swamp-gas-escape proponents need to stop eating the cool aids...

Note the perpendicular elongation which is obviously caused by the thermal heating of the ionosphere leading to compression of the bilateral composites, which effectively means a 'laser' line appearance from a central zone within the causal relation complex.

Anyone who knows about it knows...

I believe SOHO has a FAQ section, no, in fact I'm sure it does.

Yes thanks and also for not taking things offensive, the saucer flare is due to the photo sensor because the planets are so bright, they are not there. The comet colliding to its death is a nice image, and should enlighten people on how common and harmless such events are, like throwing a grain of sand in the ocean, or an ice cube in a volcano.

Hey no need for thanks, it`s normal if you ask me, I just didn`t know that they had a FAQ kinda section so thanks again for that.

Yep, comets are everywhere every time and quite the eye catcher, but common so no worries yet
.
Great day to you all!

I made a thread here about another strange object on SOHO, but no one seems to be taking it seriously...
