Obvious troll is obvious..

Besides the experience and treachery of old age often overcomes the exuberance of youth.....

Contrary to popular belief, young people DO vote.

We're not all automatons that care only about superficial pursuits.

If anything, the baby boomers are tripping up progress in this country by clinging to their fears and old ways. They still don't want gays to get married. They still want young people to go off and die in wars so they can be cheerleaders. They complain about our leaders but continue to vote in people who are worse than those so-called leaders.

Age may just be a number to some but we have got to learn to stop clinging to the old, outdated ways of our ancestors, especially when those ways restrict the happiness and freedom of others!

It lays waste to the idea that age brings wisdom.

This isn't always the case.

Even I acknowledge than Ron Paul would make a far better candidate than Sarah Palin.

The problem is, people over 50 are intimidated by intelligence and the idea that younger people are getting smarter with each generation. The result? They vote for an anti-intellectual candidate, one that's "folksy" and boring and all that tripe.

By the time you reach 50 you are dead as a chess player, so for some kinds of decisions the over 50 probably should be banned. Just keep moving the polling places so they can't mobilize a Zombie attack. Ego seems to be the last human brain function to diminish.

How about anyone UNDER 50 due to their Lack of Worldly EXPERIENCE in Life should refrain from Voting in any Election for the Simple Fact that most of them are unable to seperate the Wheat from the Chaff and often fall prey to Propaganda when it comes to Politics . Also, Anyone from N.Y. State is living on another Planet when it comes to the rest of the Country and should just be Ignored as Usual.........

I will attempt to reply w/i T&C.

For starters, mandatory retirement age for commercial pilots was just INCREASED from 60 to 65.

AGE 60 Rule Defeated. Retirement at age 65 Now Law of the Land

www.leftseat.com...

Don't know about you, but I'd take a 65 yo pilot over a 35 yo one ANY DAY. Flown there, landed that.

Three years ago I had surgery by a brilliant surgeon that saved my life. He was 62. Us "old timers" tend to have assets and contribute significantly to the US tax base of which we comprise the majority. I'd say that gives us a vested interest to be "allowed" to vote.

As far as technology, I trust I could dismantle your car engine and rebuild it as well as your computer. There ain't no app for that asshat.

It is obvious from the very notion of your OP that you possess limited intelligence, regardless of your age or purported education.

"Never mistake knowledge for wisdom. One helps you make a living; the other helps you make a life.”

Besides a dear friend told me "50" is the new "30"

I recently read an article about how CNN distorts poll results to suit certain political agendas. Using this method they can mislead viewers and make backward political standpoints look popular and legitamate. They do this by excluding any results by people under 35. As seen in this example here :

dawgfarts.com...

Last night on the Daily Show with John Stewart which is one of my favourite shows, they were making fun of the fact Trump and all the birth brigade all look like the fools they are about now due to the long form cert. being released. A very good point was made: who votes more than any other group? Old people, specifically SCARED old people. The political system has now boiled down to who can scare the most old people to their side. This is so true !

I think anyone over 50 just needs to step back and let the people who have a firm grasp of technology and how the world works do the thinking and voting. The over 50's should stick to gardening, and while we are at it we should make them sit an annual driving test, that could save thousands of lives. Why we let these out of touch grumpy old farts decide who runs the country is beyond me.

I'll bet you not one of the rabid idiots who brayed for years that Obama was really African was under 35. I'm guessing nobody under 35 thinks Sarah Palin is 'amazing' either.

We love you, old ones. Just leave the driving and voting to us eh?

Ah-ha-ha-ha......a-ha-ha-ha.....ho-ho-ho he-he.....

Ok, ok, I'm settling down now.....

First of all, young people haven't got a clue what's going on in the world. Now I know, I know... that really pss's a lot of you ATSers out there, but it's a fact. All you think about is getting laid, getting something for free, and voting for the good looking dude, and where's the next party. Before anyone starts laying the blame for this person we got in the presidential palace on the older , wiser, and much more educated people, let them take a good look at their young peers and ask, would I let that person vote?

I bet you don't have balls enough to walk into a Legion and say the same crap to any Vietnam Vets who happen to be there! There's no point in me saying how I really feel, since it appears the mods came from the same mold as people like yourself, and I would only be sensored!

I don't know whether to laugh at the OP, or look him up and buy some rope.

How can anyone present such an idea and not have at the bottom.... *not intended to be a factual statement*?

What the hell makes your vote so valuable that you lump all over 50 or over into a "moron category"? What planet do you live on?

Is that why younger folks have to put up with Cialis and Viagra ads -ALL THE TIME-, having no way qualifying for any of these dandy deductibles on our tax returns (because we're mostly single, childless and wouldn't qualify for disability)...Oh yes, and because the 50+ generation is so much in love with Sarah Palin, and finds Ron Paul's common sense disgusting? Older and wiser? Please...

Sorry to burst your bubble, but we're the ones laughing honestly.

BTW...guess who's going to pay for all these retiring baby boomers that left the US as the biggest debtor nation in the world?

No problem with this, just send all under 25's to Iraq.

The Op is so smart he can run the country all by himself. I am willing to bet his bed is messy and he has Tu-Pak Cds all over his dorm room. Probably failing classes and yet his bong buddies and himself have it all figured out. They figured it out during the last John Sterwart show, over a great salad of Maui Wowee.

Old people suck, brah! uh hu huhuhuhuhu

Speaking as someone in their late twenties, I've noticed something in particular...within American politics. I've noticed that people in their 50s-60s tend to shun someone like Ron Paul, but at the same time they can openly say that Sarah Palin would make the best President out of all candidates.

This is a big WTF for me...

Why wouldn't you think younger generations have a less than admirable view when this is a common aspect among you.......elderly folks =)

--------------------
Not all of us 50-60 year olds shun Ron Paul, hon. I consider him a statesman, supported him in 2008 and will support him again if he runs. I think Sarah Palin is a dangerous twit!

OP, what an offensive post! I know my Constitution, kiddo. I try to keep up-to-date with current issues--I am a responsible voter. Now the driving part: I read my local newspaper daily. It has come to my attention that most accidents listed in the paper are caused by the very young and the very old...like teens to 30 and over 70. I do think that perhaps when one turns 70, if one is still driving, a new driving test/vision test should be mandatory. That will not be necessary for me, however. I have already informed my children that if my vision continues to deteriorate, I will not be driving within the next 5 years--I am a responsible driver, as well. What really irritated me about your "no driving if your 50 or older" rant is that on numerous occasions I have almost been involved in an accident due to some stupid teenager-to-30 year old driving with a cell phone plastered to their head. Doubly-disconcerting is the fact that most of them still didn't have the brains to put the stupid phone down after almost having an accident. I have never had that type of experience with an older driver. We're also able to walk through a store without one plastered to our heads, unlike most younger shoppers I see.
Snot-nosed brat!

Silly idea.

Except the driver's license part. Back when I was younger I hated paying a ton of money for insurance, and jumping through hoops to get a license. Never been in an accident in my 12-13 years of driving. Only being 29 there is still time to get in an accident, but my point is that if we can discriminate against drivers based on being young and male, why not be able to discriminate against drivers based on being old?

You OP are the most childish kid ever. And as far as drivers are concerned, in the last five years that I have mowed State Highway Right-of Ways, I have had three close calls from idiot drivers and they were all under 25. We had one guy get hit and killed by a 23 year old and one guy was crippled for life when a teenager plowed into his tractor.

Its funny that no older people of 50 or above has ever came close to hitting me or killing my co-workers. Maybe you should hit puberty before you post outlandish BS like this thread........You disgust me really.....

I hope this is satire. Even if I don't like someone because I know how they vote, I would never presume to tell them they can't, or even how to, vote.
