I recently read an article about how CNN distorts poll results to suit certain political agendas. Using this method they can mislead viewers and make backward political standpoints look popular and legitamate. They do this by excluding any results by people under 35. As seen in this example here :

dawgfarts.com...

Last night on the Daily Show with John Stewart which is one of my favourite shows, they were making fun of the fact Trump and all the birth brigade all look like the fools they are about now due to the long form cert. being released. A very good point was made: who votes more than any other group? Old people, specifically SCARED old people. The political system has now boiled down to who can scare the most old people to their side. This is so true !

I think anyone over 50 just needs to step back and let the people who have a firm grasp of technology and how the world works do the thinking and voting. The over 50's should stick to gardening, and while we are at it we should make them sit an annual driving test, that could save thousands of lives. Why we let these out of touch grumpy old farts decide who runs the country is beyond me.

I'll bet you not one of the rabid idiots who brayed for years that Obama was really African was under 35. I'm guessing nobody under 35 thinks Sarah Palin is 'amazing' either.

We love you, old ones. Just leave the driving and voting to us eh?

One day you'll be over 50!

I believe everyone has the right to vote, they paid taxes and the decisions will still affect them.

Selecting the age range on a poll is very misleading, shows you how we get statistics and why we are up #s creek.

Ohhhhhhh......I know you didn't. I guess I am one of those "grumpy old farts" you are talking about. Let us hope that by the time you are my age you have acquired 1/2 as much wisdom.

Who the hell decided that 50 is old?
It isn't.
Some people are old at 25, others just do not get old.
Well, maybe by 80.....

Growing up is highly overrated, clearly.

If you think voter turnout is bad now imagine what it would be if this came to pass.I don't know many people under 50 that even bother voting anymore.

Yeah right... Sigh! Being a dumbass knows no age as is illustrated by this post! The younger generation always thinks they know more then the older generations. The bottom line is there are idiots in all age groups. And the younger age groups certainly do not have a corner on intelligence and being awake. Stopping over 50,s from voting would not make a difference because most of the under 50's are still to busy watching sports or American Idol to be bothered with voting much less know anything about who they are voting for.

Course you might be surprised at how many over 50's don't vote anymore because they know it's a sham. Age is just a number!

Well I've got a firm grasp of technology.Having traveled overseas and throughout conus a bit; worked full time in various fields and having served(retired) in the military through the end of the cold war;I think I have a better idea of how the world works than any over-educated under-experienced video game playing college punk voting for "socialist redistribution".

Think you're "tough" youngster?
try a"TRUS prostate biopsy" ( i.e. 12-15 needle "cores" taken "transrectally-")

5-0 is no goddamn picnic....but it comes with the wisdom of experience that can't be bought.

I see what your getting at OP, the over 50s are are not "driving" the country as it were but what you also must remember is that they are citizens of the United States of America, just like you and I. To deny them any right that you and I have simply because it does not suite your ideas would be to admit that you are the same as most in our now tyrannical rogue government.

A better idea is instead of forcing older folks not to vote, find a way to get the younger slackers off there lazy ass and into the polls.

Don't need to ban an age group, just need to pull people off their blackberrys and xboxs and educate them about a few issues and march their arse into a polling place.

I believe everyone has the right to vote, they paid taxes and the decisions will still affect them.
I think only those who ACTUALLY PAY TAXES should vote. If you do not pay income taxes, you should not vote. Anybody sucking from the government teat should not vote. On SS? Welfare? Medicaid? No vote for your until you turn from leech to productive citizen.

I think your post is ridiculous, unrealistic and insulting. There any many, many people over 50 who are awake and aware of the issues at hand. They are healthy and lead vital active lives. Who made you God and threw away the key!

It sounds like Facism just for the old.
In Australia we have older people living in fear as violent youths roam the streets bashing and robbing raping and killing older people.
Personally I believe people over 40 should be able to carry a licensed weapon (hand gun taser ect) to protect themselves from the disrespect and violence the young display toward sthem the vulnerable and less agile.
Shame on the OP , power to all.
If the old were armed the cowards would have to pick on twelve year olds.

Really? Disabled by IED while protecting your liberty and unable to work but still needs to live so must collect disability (SSI) now equals no right to vote?

Wouldn't an IQ test be more productive? Don't have an intellectual grasp on things then no vote for you.

The problem is over 55 is exempt from suffering if they vote to destroy medicare medicaid and social security. Should they vote on something that does not concern them at all. If you want to vote siffer from your vote get rid of there exemption.

The idea of not voting on decisions that shape your life from the perspective of an over 50 just shows how ridiculous your suggestion is. We vote because the policies we vote for impact our lives. It's no different with age.

Also, the driving bash is a right insult at the ability of the elderly.
50 isn't even old, I'm 100% sure there are buckets full of them that can out do you in any mental or physical exercise, I'd rather they decision make than people like you.

Well...the birthers seem to all be over 50 right? Could it be that these people 50 and over were raised under the thumb of government propaganda during the cold war...or do I have the generations mixed up? I think much of their decision making is based on fear instead of reason. Certainly not all, but many do.

If I recall a recent publicized study showing how the brains of these nationalists work...The study determines that fear and anxiety is a basis for much of their decision making throughout their lives. There are a lot of people like this. It can lead to extreme paranoia as well.

Nobody should ever have their voting rights restricted due to old age...But I also accept that not everyone has the opportunity to reach the age of reason in their life times.

Whatever happened to the Idea of discussing these matters with people who are 'in the dark'.
There is no way in hell I could discriminate against over 50 people voting. I really like talking to
older people about what is going on today because they can give you exact examples of the same in the past.
You'd be surprised on how many older folk know what's going on. All you have to do is talk things out with them.
I'll guarantee that you will learn something.

It's better than goose-stepping around an online forum spewing your ideas on denying people's rights.

Well, people over 50 have the right to vote because they pay taxes. As for driving, 50 is hardly elderly these days; that's not quite old enough for there to actually be a likelihood of danger simply due to age.
