A few days ago a 5.6 (26-4-2011) and now a 5.0.

Getting a little shaky down there.

Been following this area and have seen a steady increase in activity along with intensity. Any pros out there want to weigh in?

I know with the previous one of 5.6, some said nothing to worry about. I am starting to think this may not be the case.

One more note and it may be a coincidence but I have noticed that there seems to be a rumble in Japan just after the last 2 in the Gulf. I know Japan is rumbling all the time but after this one, again there was immediately another 5.3.

The 5.6 was followed by a 5.2 in Japan if I look back into it.

Any thoughts from the pros?

Thanks.

Opinion on this? Do you find a trend? Anything else to add? I have not seen any other 5.0's today in Cali.

No problem...just had to gather everything as I was putting it together.

Any thoughts on it?

Thanks

I'm keeping my eye on Cali since the Japan Quake. Lots of speculation that it could wake up the faults in Cali. Then again it's been due for a "big one" for quite a while now. Let's just hope these aren't foreshocks.

I say we cross our fingers that this one is an aftershock from the 5.6 you posted.

I read something yesterday about a huge solar flare heading this way, maybe there is a link between them?

Yup, an aftershock would be nice as it is the exact area once again. Some felt the previous one and I believe a few on the islands around there reported tremors.

Waiting for those same people to come in and report again.

I've been watching solar activity as well. Haven't noticed anything too intense.

Little activity here tho:

Have a source?

That seems about normal as far as my expertise goes, which is amateur.

Haven't seen anything reaching even an M Class so I can't say. A lot of spikes surely but hopefully more experienced sun watchers will weigh in.

Thanks!

I just wanted to say that I'm extremely nervous for May 11...hopefully nothing bad will happen, but if it does, God be with us all.

Why the reference to May 11th? I've seen a lot of different reasons from other posters...what's yours?

Thanks.

My reasoning behind May 11 is based off of my intuition, really. I have no proof of anything happening for sure, but considering that 11 is a significant number that involves previous catastrophic events, I'm worried that something may happen. I really hope that it doesn't, but if it does...well, it would be interesting to say the least.
