Just
you did put it very well. They are loosing a lot of the things that make it a good show. I liked Bobby a lot also so I hope they can keep with theme of the show, and hopefully replace his character with something else that works equally as well.

I loved the new episode.
Although it was a hunting episode it had it all:Time travel, awesome quotes,a pagan god, sheriff Mills,a hint for Leviathans and very good guest stars.
Dean was amazing playing the untouchable and Sam working with Mills showed us that she has a future in the show.
Chronos was very good and different from the rest of the gods we met so far.His story was slightly tragic.Killed so he could be with the woman he loved.
I loved the ending when he told them their future, which means if the leviathans are everywhere and since we know that they are so hard to get, they boys will propably will have to make many "unholy" alliances to defeat them.
I also loved the dialoges between Dean and Ness.

Anyway next episode will air on February 13th

I like the episode also. To me there was a lot of comedy in this one. I like that the Sheriff is in it also. Since she now has some one close to her who was killed by a monster, perhaps she will move into being a hunter. That does seem to be the norm for the community. As far as the episode as a hunting story I agree it was a good one. I liked that there was a little bit of romance in it. I like that in most any story. From hear on out all I can really hope for is that we see more of the Sheriff.

Something else, they said the infinite hour glass, or the infinity symbol was the symbol of Cronus. That is not correct. His symbol is suppose the be the sickle.
edit on 15-1-2012 by RedGolem because: forgot to add the symbol

The god Cronus and Chronos are two different gods. The one you reffering is a titan god, father of Zeus, the one in the episode is the second one,god of time.Chronos in Greek mean time and i'm not aware of any symbol(although i think i have seen a picture of god Chronos with the Uroboros snake).

Thanks for the information, and yes I was thinking of Cronus, the father of Zeus. I did try to find a symbol for Chronos. The best I could come across was something like K with a diagonal line through the top left.
That does kind of explain things also. Such as why he was moving through time, and why he did not really seem to act like an ancient all powerful Titan god.

Glad i could help.
Mythology is one of my favourite subjects.
And that is the reason, why i was hoping, that with the annihilation of angels,we would see them more often in the show. Not that i'm complaining with the new bad guys...

I like mythology also. You residing where much of the classical mythology comes from I can see where it would be in your daily life.
As far as the episode goes I liked it more from the monster of the week, and the dose of comedy. The ancient god they threw in was more secondary.

Does anybody know why it was a rerun last week? That was really disappointing.

Not that I like the waiting but I do think the episode was worth it. They brought in a new monster from history. I did not recognize the symbol that was being used but I do think the Amazons can be a good monster to have pop up every now and then. When the episode started I was saying good for Dean, he is getting some. Although right after I was also saying I bet he will be paying for it.
I hope everyone else liked it also.

Hi Redgolem

I liked it as well.I believe as well that we will see the Amazons again and maybe their father,Ares. They would be a good asset if they were persuaded to help the Winchesters with the leviathan problem. They are very powerful, they are godessess afterall.Since the boss leviathan is a male, they could be used to kill him.

Another thing i liked is when Dean thought that Bobby's spirit was helping them with the research.Maybe it was a coincidence that they found the right page with the info that they needed, but to be honest the scene with Sam debunking Dean's beliefs, reminded me of ATS.(it was a spirit-no it was the wind debate
).

always good to hear from you. An ats debate is a good way to describe the spirit or wind argument they had. Since Bobby is dead I think it is best to leave him dead but this is Supernatural we are talking about, so anything is possible. I would not be surprised if he does come back in spirit form. The god creators of the Amazons getting involved is not a bad idea, after all we have seen a few of them already. I was a little surprised how easy the Amazons were to kill. By any chance did you recognize the symbol they were using?

When i first saw it it reminded me of the delphic epsilon, turned upside down.

BUT on a closer look,it resembles the ancient fertility goddess symbols.

And since the amazons were out to procreate,i bet they used the symbol of fertility.

BTW the story about goddess Harmonia,is a little wrong. She was Ares and Aphrodite's daughter and she never coupled with Ares to create the amazons.

www.theoi.com...

On the other hand Nymph Harmonia(completely different person) was the one who coupled with Ares.

www.theoi.com...

Yeah i know, greek mythology sometimes seems like a big mess, everyone slept with each other and had kids (actually seems that the only thing the gods did,was sex)

Thanks for all the information and the links.
As to the symbol I think it does closely resemble the first one. I tend to think the people making the show took several different symbols and combined them. If either of us wants to I suppose we could take the symbols apart and try to interpret them individually.
I do think some other people besides my self will be interested in the info also, so again thanks for the links.

The first symbol is one of the symbols of Apollo. So by itself it wouldn't make sense to use it.
I agree with you that there is a combination of symbols.

One of the reasons i like supernatural is because of this. After every episode i like to search for the true meaning behind the symbols and the mythology they present.I like the fact that they take a real myth and they bring it to the modern day without destroying the original story. It means that they do a hell of research themselves.I really respect that.

I like looking up the myths and symbols also. I often stop in the middle of the episode and go look something up. That last one they used with the amazons to me just looked to be to complex to look up the way I usually do so thanks for the info on that again. I was pondering from the start that it could be a mix of different symbols which good or bad it seems to have at least caught the attention of a few people.

Season 7 sucks, it started out sucking and continued its path to irrelevance. After Kripke left it should have been allowed to just die. This show's biggest weakness is listening to the stupid teenybopper girls that refuse to let the story expand and progress. And now it is stifled with no growth and no maturity, just the same thing over and over and it making less and less sense as it goes along. Will it have a season 8? Most certainly because the CW will let a show run as long as it is showing profit no matter how small.
