The "ideals" should both work in unison, however I don't think simply "understanding" how it works or threatening OPEC, or other mass oil producing companies/countries, will do anything else.

Who has the better advice/solution?...

(We have the 2nd largest oil reserves in the world, here in Alberta Canada, and we still play Middle-East inflation prices.. So I'm not sure it matters)

See I am the person who likes to buy stolen stuff from flea markets or ebay for cheap because that is how it works when something costs nothing. My solution is better, since we are stealing oil give it to the people for 10% over cost. Cost of transporting it back plus 10%. How in the world do we get ripped off so bad from stuff that is stolen??

No, no.. that's the thing. U.S is NOT stealing the oil, they simply "secured" contracts in U.S dollars.
So any/all oil leaving the country is exchanged in U.S dollars.
