There were actually 3 dooms day events for 2000.
1. The Y2k computer bug claimed to cause planes to fall out of the sky and power plants to shut down
2. The millennium heralding the second coming
3. The great planetary alignment that was supposed to tear up the Earth
Three great disasters none of which turned out to be correct although people read books, went to lectures, built guarded fenced in compounds, quit
jobs, and all sorts of other silliness.
