In other words: Things didn't work out like we planned in Libya, and we really don't know how to proceed in Syria.

politics.blogs.foxnews.com...

Guess it kinda sucks stirring up the pot, then realizing you forgot where you put the lid!

I don't see the point your trying to make.

We are never going to get out of the middle east. If we hold Libya as the new litmus test to involving ourselves then we have "job security" for the next few decades. And weaseling on Syria just shows how inconsistent this administration is.
I haven't seen this much 'waffling' since I was last at IHOP!

Or maybe because out of all the protests and uprisings to date, Libya is the only one who decided to use air power against its people. The international community was not intrested until that occured.

Sure they look at Syria differently.

They can fight back and have friends at the ready-with itchy trigger fingers already.

Remember, Might Makes Right....

And right now, USA is not to Mightly... at least it's political leadership.

The same people that brought you Bush brought you Obama and they planned these wars so they will happen. The problem is that Obama failed as a leader - he started in 2009 laying the ground work and justification for wars based upon humanitarian reasons; however, the days of having 60% approval are long past and he stands now an ineffectual and disliked President. His ability to form a coalition outside of the "controlled" states has been weakened by his domestic failures.

They went ahead with the war in Libya despite all of the above and it came back to bite them. The vast majority of Americans were against it and if think they could tolerate a 4th war you are insane. The fact is Obama was supposed to bring us together and allow the powers that be to walk us gleefully in to a much larger war - maybe not a World War but a Middle East war.

It didn't happen the way they had hoped and now they have to back off - call for sanctions, and pound sand trying to put together a coalition which will agree to go to war with Syria. No one is having it though. Syria and most of the other nations are going to get away with murder as a result - all provoked by this President over the course of the last 18 months. They setup the court and put up the net but none of the players agreed to come.

We should be asking ourselves what Middle East War v3.0 will be? It seems to me the problem are the Americans lack of blood lust. Perhaps the Chinese would be more willing to die for their Dear Leader?

Obama seems to have been groomed to be the Mahdis little helper - one who unites the Muslim world, and destroys the great Satan (USA ) and enables the Muslims to destroy their 'eternal enemies the Jews.

After all how else is the Mahdi supposed to lead the Arabs to destroy the pre-eminent military power on Earth...........unless he is its' president!

That is why Obama/Sorros instigated and facilitated these 'revolutions' - then picks and chooses when to interfere according to wether it advances the Islamicists cause or not.

Apparently Libya disgarees with you on Lockerbee since they admitted to being involved in that, up to paying for damages to the families.

Gadaffi lost his kid when we bombed tripoli because of their actions against Pan Am flight 103.

To date there is no evidence that proves the CIA was involved with 103 explosion, other than the basic conspiracy theories floating aound. It does not make them fact.

Syrians are anti-US/Israel to the point that even if we tried to intervene .... the protestors would instantly protect Assad and attack us. Or else blame it entirely on Israel and try and move against them.

Libya was about oil, regardless of what that slow talking lying hypocrite Obama says.

The real answer to the OP's title, one word...
OIL
I have yet to see anyone from the left screaming that we're in Lybia to steal their oil, like they said about Bush in Iraq. No, it's a humanitarian effort. Really? then what about all the others killing their people that are rising up?
There is no telling what kind of world will be left when these a**h*les get done. No one can stop them. They are on a mission in the name of their new God.......Money.

There's no oil?

Pretty simple.

And Syria has biological and chemical weapons with decent missiles. Not to mention they are allied with Iran and Hezbollah is right across the border.

So yeah.
