Get rid of Wal-Mart. They bring everything from China and the US buys it up.

What good does Wal Mart really do anyway? They close small US business wherever they are and make us consumers of China in the process.

I won't even go into the low wages, no medical and tax breaks.

US Employees get paid low wages selling Chinese products, pay increasing taxes on their pay checks, turn around and shop at Wal Mart and that money is then used to bring more Chinese products over. Vicious cycle indeed.

Here's another cycle: Taxes rise because the dollar is going to China through Wal Mart. Mom and Pop store prices rise because of rising taxes. People are now forced to shop at Wal Mart to save money. More money to China.

Who is this American company working for anyway?

I think most people know about Wal Mart so it's easy to say that the 1st step to American recovery is to close Wal Mart thereby allowing small business and factories to start playing on a level playing ground again.

It's a big World out there, Wal Mart can do business elsewhere IMO

It's not the only step but it's a great start.

Muslim problem ? Britain's Muslims are what, 2 million in number ? Most are well educated, hard working and have a determination to succeed which many welfare dependant Americans lack.

Perhaps you can tell us about the illegal Hispanic population in the USA ? 30 million ?

Why don't you tell us about them, amigo, in your own thread of course.

What is the total population of Britain? 2 million muslims are just one race. You have other minorities flooding and sucking the benefits in UK.

In other words, UK is in no better or worst shape then US

For the share holders... and maybe you don't know but you maybe one of these share holders. Investment funds buy shares and demand ultimate profit for the investors. Who invest in these funds? I don't know how funds in your country but in my. Banks create they own investment funds and mostly people with extra bucks invest in such funds because give them a little extra profit for that money they are not using for time being. So more or less we are all part of the system.

Well, you can thank corporations fro this to happen then. No one willd o wnything, if we americans really cared, wede fight back and protect ourselves. No one stopped the $800 billion bailout, of course thier gunna take advantage of us then, same goes for most everything else under this bush jrs. version of capilaism. CEO's go intot he secratary of treasury, and gae our money to thier friends at the big banks. yuo know who they are all.. AIG, wells fargo, others.
I think the fear here is, allegedly, china owns well over 84% of our land, legaly* government and corporations giving it to china as financial collateral* i cant say thats true, but ide belive it, how governemnt and business runs things today. monopolozing which was supposed too be illegal* has happened without a question aka walmart, CVS, radio shack, others and othes, killing off the competition. hell i think mcdonalds is in thier too.
i work with a guy form china he is cool though, older gy who had stocks in GM and 2008, lost almsot all of it. he tells me, in china, theirs till is communism, but tis vield* behind close doors and buried deep in its parliment. its still alive and around. he came to america , in 1979 to live the american dream. he wishes he was back home now though, not becasue he is favors communism(he dosnt, but sems too lilke socialism) but he has learned, in america, yuo can make money, over decades, and with one swift drop of the point bar on wallstreet, it can all be gone forever* Had he knwon that, he would have stayed back home, madea descent living, without having to respirt ot having 2-3 jobs for extra money.
IF china does own, 80%+ here, one must wonder, if china would send thier troops over here, to take what our government has been holding for them. and what about us as a population? traditionaly, as histoary has shwon us, the unfavored races would be genocided* shot n buried* as the land is taken over. im not saying that what they would do...but ive learned, to never see things and people in one dimensions..you gotta look for another side with caution regardless sometimes.
indeed, if china surpases us, what will become of us and our eceonomy. maybe this is the NWO...the crippling and end of america, and allowing china, to overpower us. could be for all we know. then in time, establish us into socialism, and sweatshop labor as well, knowing american wont fight back anymore..they jsut complain n get noting done* their easy to overpower* thats how i see us today.

OK, but who do you suppose is responsible for getting rid of WalMart? Don't tell me you expect the government to do it.

All we have to do is start shopping locally. Don't do business anywhere that you can't ask for the owner and speak to them face to face. If the owner of the business is a local person, then you are on the right track.

I admit, I still shop at Walmart, but it is getting less and less. I try to avoid franchises too. I will gladly pay just a little extra for personal service from someone in my community.

Again, like I said in my first post, it is a hard pill to swallow, but it is absolutely necessary. We can't expect anyone else to fix things for us. We have to choose to ignore the influences. Stop buying cheap plastic disposable items. Buy good glass, good dishes, and stop just consuming, trashing, and re-buying. Don't fall victim to the idea that "recycling" means throwing stuff in the recycle bin.
That is still "consuming." Recycling means buying something of decent quality, and reusing it over and over and over again, and not buying it a 2nd or 3rd time.

We can run Walmart out of our towns, by shopping in the little mom and pop stores. Do business with your friends and neighbors, and ignore the corporate stores and franchises. I am not doing everything I could be doing, but I am getting a little better and better at it each day. I no longer buy anything that I am going to throw away after using it. I try wait until I can afford the good version of something, and then buy it one time! I try to ask around at work and find a store where somebody knows the owner, and then I ask for the owner when I go in. It isn't easy, and I am not doing it 100%. Sadly, I still go to Walmart far too often, but I am trying to cut back, and we should all be doing the same thing!

I do doubt that the US will allow this to happen even after the dollar collapses, I do see a very long recovery period for the US after the collapse, but no Chinese takeover of the US as THE world power. The Chinese economy is going to implode by the sheer numbers, then what are they going to do? They have a garbage problem that is literally up to the hilt. Energy consumption dictates ones quality of life, and they are short on that too per capita.

We as the American will not allow that to happen, plain and simple. No argument, just the way it is and will be.

I will be damned if I move my business out of the country! I have been doing Intern'l business since 1999, and have watched what would equate to the changing of the guard in financial reserve. I cannot begin to imagine where they would try to slip in a check mate.

I agree with get rid of Wally's World, reason being for all of the lead laden products that they buy from China that makes our children dumb. The problem lies with US trade agreements with them in that case. The US needs to put a foot down and get things straight over there.

Wally's World only carries cheap products to be consumed anyway. I never shop there, so I would not miss it, it is not like it holds the key to the US's future.Shut those poison pill stores down I say!

Our problem starts with the fact we manufacture nothing in this country anymore. Manufacturing has all moved overseas. We first need to lower corporate taxes to lessen the burden on manufacturing which in turn will bring more jobs. Also, I am all for the EPA as all anyone has to do is look at the start of the industrial age and see the health problems that were around from no EPA at the time. However...the EPA did get a little out of control in some respects.Intensives for corporations to bring manufacturing back. That would be a good start at bring jobs back here in my opinion.

Our economy does look bleak. The future does not look all that great as well. We dropped in rank of economic freedom around the globe now as well and steadily declining. We have been sold out.
www.heritage.org...

Our own Government is to blame for our current mess however. They bailed out some of the largest criminal outfits and pretty much rewarded them for it, all the while telling us to tighten our belts and that it's our fault. WASHINGTON NEEDS AN ENEMA NOW! We need to get these crooks out out of DC.

Last month China's Central Bank announced all cross-border trades will be done in Yuan by this year's end.
The IMF releases this 2016 prediction....
Today China announces it will liquidate 2/3 of its USD holdings.

Fellow Americans, please fasten your seatbelts and get ready for one hell of a bumpy ride.

I see your point... the difference here, is that during the Civil war the big issue was what kind of labor was going to settle the west... the wage labor of the north of the slave labor of the south... This was an economic war more than anything, and in that way tensions are similarly high... however the division has never been as isolated as it was between the union and the confederacy.

We just don't have the echo chambers that we had back then that I can tell...

Maybe we do, maybe the rural areas, cities, etc all have their own echo chambers....

I think rhetoric is very local, like all politics... and I can say that Johns Creek GA is not about to revolt any time soon ;-)

I was told when I was a kid..ummm about 35 years ago
that there was a silent war going on and that the threat was
China... taking over without firing a shot.

Yep it hurts to pay more for American goods..it's gonna hurt more
when we are the ones making the cheap stuff for China!!!!

Here's an updated link to the IMF story with a reaction from the IMF:

That's good news!

BUT, would you really know if they were? I mean are you a part of the groups that would be having those talks? It might not be a "local" thing as much as it is a "clique" thing.

I converted all my dollars into Silver Bullion when Silver was 15 dollars an ounce. I expect it hit 50 dollars an ounce tomorrow but I wouldn't trade it for nothing. Well some if I wanted something. I will enjoy my vacation thank you. And all the garbage all through your house that is made in China as you said your freely purchased. But that's certainly not the case at my place I look at where stuff was manufactured. I enjoy purchasing quality. I like to purchase things and have them last. Instead of purchasing the same slapped together crap several times a year.

So don't compare my pad with yours.

I think you are right on. But i think the key phrase was get back to work. People just don't want to work. And what incentive do they have. A lot of them have NEVER worked. They have a ton of babies and are set based on the Democratic welfare state platform.

You are so full of propaganda your eyes are brown.

Americans arent lazy. We are one of the hardest working people on the planet in terms of man hours worked a year. Period.

Dont blame this on the working class. Or even the poor. The unemployment rate stayed steady around 5% for except for times the economy itself faltered. And the economy is set up to prevent unemployment from falling below 5% to keeps wages in check for businesses.

Dont blame the poor and unemployed. Unemployment happens by design, its not the result of lazy people. Its a mechanism to keep wages down.

The problem with America is with the top end of our socio economic ladder. Not the low end.
