New space based weapon name EMP,electro magntic propulsion. This satalite will be base in a low orbit around the earth. This weapon will use EMP to shoot twelve to eighteen inch tungstin rods at targets anywhere on earth. From humans to tanks the rods will strike with such speed and force ,no armer can stop them. This weapon will come within inches of it's target. Not much known yet on this weapon.Power supply;maker;and under which branch of miltary it will operate no yet known.Believe me it is here and real, maybe in space as we speek.

It seems that what u r referring to is a rail gun. These were one of Reagans Star Wars weapons platforms.
The technology u refer to would still be years away of having a prototype. They can't even shoot missiles in a vacuum yet, let alone targets on the ground.
A low earth orbit would mean that it would spend a finite amount of time in space as it's trajectory deteriorated.
I think it would be more feasible to deploy laser weaponry geosynchronously.

Deploying a weapons platform in geosync would extremely limit its operational mobility and targeting range.

It would be a lot easier in having a laser based platform in GEO. NEO satellites could provide targetting data to the GEO laser platforms. As the laser travels through a vacuum all the way it would lose barely any power until it hit the atmosphere.
Does anyone know of any laser technologies capable of producing the required power ouputs for these purposes ( apart from chemically based lasers ) ?

the idea may be feasable if there were an array of such satellites in GEO, thus providing effective global coverage. one targeting satellite in NEO and one weapons platform in GEO would not do the trick.

Yes, u are right psypher, it would require more than 1 laser platforms in GEO. I would say 8-10, so at least 2 can engage a target at any one time.
