I reckon its a conspiracy in itself that despite all the technology and advances we claim we've made in the 21st century. No continent (nevermind country) in the modern would could even come close to what the cambodian's created in the 13th century. No computers, lasers, calculators or trucks to help them out. Just sheer determination, manpower, masonry and calculations done in their heads.

Nice pics.

I've been to the Ajanta caves in India. They're indeed awe inspiring; what got me is that huge length of time it took to carve that temple out of the mountainside - many generations - so it you'd be born, join the masons carving this thing that's already well begun, then die well before it's finished. True dedication is that which expects no true reward (unless of course they were forced to work on it!)

May i ask the question if all this modern toys are necessary? What about Peace and universal love? Forgiveness, regret, empathy ? We developed true wonders in the outer world, while our inner world is a little angry crying greedy baby". We need respect and unity, food and some medicine - thats all.

To me the conspiracy is this; not one picture close to home.

The pictures are indeed inspiring and it is not to belittle what they are....

But we have the beauty all around us, For my neck of the woods [Yorkshire, UK]:
- Plants - the carpet of bluebells at this time of year [or a carpet of wild garlic or a carpet of Heather] .
- Animals - There are few birds that can compete with the Kingfisher or the puffin
- Places - Malham Cove

There is beauty all around us, we do not have to go searching to find it [or am I just lucky]

More more more I say. Those are amazingly beautiful pictures, I downloaded them all. The majestic beauty of the earth, can never be discribed in words, because beauty like this can only be found in the cosmos.

We are just a small product of this cosmos, how I wonder what else lays waiting to be explored.

Thanks for posting this. Great reminder for someone who is tied up in the office all day. I suppose that's why I smoke, so I can get away from the technology for a while...well besides ATS (another bad addiction)

I have to agree with this statement, especially seeing the bluebells as you go up along the edge of Loch Lomond at this time of year.

Scotland was mentioned in the places to see but thats too big a place, narrowing it down would have been good. I cant imagine telling someone to visit Scotland and have them turn up in Shettleston or Maryhill (no offense to either area especially having grown up in one of them) and expect to see lochs and hillside covered in heather.

We live in an amazing world there are so many places on this earth that are just breathtaking! I wish i had the funds to be able to travel to all those wonders of nature..I wake up each morning respecting the world around me its a awe inspiring place we all live in ..thank you for the thread boncho
