I'm pretty simple. I like country breakfasts. Give me some fried pork chops, fried potatoes, eggs over medium, bacon, and cheese with some coffee and I'm set for the day.

I like SOS too, which is sausage and eggs and bacon and whatever else you have all mixed together. Good stuff.

So?

you sound like me I am country gal and can make a mean mess of gravy and biscuits, country ham ,grits, and some fried taters,yeeehaa... gittin hougry now

I have to go along with the country breakfast. Of course what one gets might depend on what country they were in. I just did a photo breakfast thread on my Mexican-Gringo breakfasts www.abovetopsecret.com... which has a bit of my Mexicana wife's interpretation added in. I have introduced her to Gringo cuisine which she really loves.

There is a little American enclave town about three-hour drive from us in Ajijic/Chapala that we visit about three times a year. It is the only place I know of anywhere close here in central Mexico to get an American country-style breakfast of biscuits and gravy, sausage patties, and bottomless cups of coffee, etc., anything of that style. For Tere, my wife, and myself it is pure heaven and a trip we look forward to every few months.

Take a look at the link provided and see this Mexican interpretation of a Gringo breakfast. It is great but not quite what I grew-up on. We will be heading out to Ajijic in just over a week for country-style breakfasts, BBQ pulled-pork sandwiches, and home-style pies all of which are rare in these parts. As far as our trips to this American enclave go, it's all about the food, plain and simple.

I think it's the part where he mentioned mango with strawberry yogurt topping

That would be strawberry yogurt topping sliced mango. I usually add a sprinkle of granola but somehow forgot to that morning.

I too would have to waver on the side of a Country breakfast and being from Florida, we can do some country cookin'

But if I had to pick an all time favorite, it would have to be Buttermilk Biscuits and Sausage Gravy...yumm

Eggs Benedict.

3 eggs just shy of firm
4-5 slices of fried Canadian Back Bacon
2 peices of thick sliced toast

Smoother that in a hollandaise sauce made with just a hint of lemon and cayenne.

Serve with a tall glass of ice-cold OJ.

Clear the couch for a nap; fall asleep to the sound of your arteries hardening

For a complete English breakfast, you've left out milk, orange juice,
Corn-flakes, and most important of all - thick chunky Dundee Marmalade.

I'm not much of a breakfast eater during the week as I just don't really have time,. Shame on me. But on the weekends, I like scrambled eggs, toast, sausage and fresh sliced tomatoes. Heck I can eat tomatoes with just about anything. OK. It's Sunday morning and now I'm getting hungry.

Bacon, scrambled eggs with chopped onion, hominy grits with butter, a couple asparagus spears, melon topped with peach yogurt and granola. wheat toast with butter and blackberry jam. A bit of habanero chile salsa in the appropriate places.

The bacon looks oddly enough like what I recall as Lean Strips, or something such, but is actually what we get from the local butcher shops (carnicerías) when they slice it off the slab for you when you buy it here. Good stuff.
