I think this may have something to do with the end of The Federal Reserve which is occurring next winter. This is us moving into a "Post Federal Reserve" America and do not expect to hear much until the time is right.

If they were all Democrats I highly doubt the meeting was anything to do with the interests of America. More likely covering their own butts for when all their spending makes the dollar worthless paper.

Surely a trip like this would have been arranged months ago. Its the coordination required such as getting everyone together at a convenient date, arranging an itinery everyone agrees, ensuring the people in China are free at the arranged date and in the right part of China. These trips don't happen with groups at the drop of a hat.
