And the best thing about it? Those responsible for Wall Street are gonna be cut... Wouldn't that be a shame if Wall Street were to be wiped out by a fire?

Exclusive: CBS 2 Obtains Partial List Of FDNY Company Closures

As Many As 20 On The Block, Including Responder To Wall Street

Twenty fire companies are on death row including, sources said, Engine 271 in Bushwick. And unless there’s a last-minute reprieve communities all across the city could be in danger.

“It’s very serious. Mayor Bloomberg is asking the Fire Department to roll the dice on public safety. If you close one fire company, let alone 20, even one fire company will impact the safety of New Yorkers,” said Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley, D-Queens.

“When response time goes up you’re talking about loss of property and loss of life,” added Councilman James Vacca.

But eh, maybe this is what they are planning... I already see the headlines... ``Electrical fire burns down Wall Street, records of banking transactions lost due to fire``... and all the fraud they've been doing in the last decades is gone... just like Enron records that were stored in the WTCs were destroyed on 9/11... and oops... all the evidence gone...

I hope they really don't cut the fire departments because it would be a big mess just waiting to happen.

you want to save those fire departments then cut the massive entitlement programs in new york fat chance of that happening tho.

or cut some of their union benefits fat chance of that happening either

wall street could burn down but remember wall street has back up facilities in cases like those.

bloomberg sure has done a fine job for new york.

I find it disingenuous that these people would rather cut firefighters, teachers, and police before they even attempt to cut bureaucrats jobs or make the system more efficient.

The government would rather put the lives of the people it supposedly represents in danger than stop their malfeasance or be accountable for their expenses. If we could stop government waste, we could hire more police and still get half our taxes back.

Why do they do this?

Dangling a threat of burning to death or being shot in a B and E is a great way to extract more money from us. It is like a mob shakedown...... we have an offer on the table that we can't refuse.
