Donald Trump says his determination to conclusively resolve President Barack Obama’s place of birth resonates with GOP voters, and he doesn’t care if Karl Rove criticizes the effort, because it was the Republican strategist’s failures that led to a botched Obama presidency in the first place.

Trump also told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren Thursday Obama’s decision to send armed drones into Libya is “a little late” to save the many lives lost, was another sign of his weak leadership, and if he was president he would just go in “and take the oil.”

“Well it’s a little bit late, his whole thing is a little late — he takes so long to make decisions,” Trump said. “And he might have been better off making no decision, or going in early, because so many people have been killed in Libya — it’s unbelievable — it’s a carnage. So, I just don’t think he knows what he’s doing

Van Susteren asked Trump what he would do if he was president, considering it has been some two months since Obama said Libyan despot Moammar Gadhafi must go: “I would go in and take the oil — I would just go in and take the oil,” Trump replied. “We don’t know who the rebels are, we hear they come from Iran, we hear they’re influenced by Iran or al-Qaida, and, frankly I would go in, I would take the oil — and stop this baby stuff.

Van Susteren then wondered why Trump thought he was getting so much heat from Republicans — including GOP strategist Karl Rove —for insisting Obama reveal his birth certificate from Republicans. “Well, I don't think I'm getting a lot of heat. First of all, I think Karl Rove has a loser issue,” Trump said. “If you look at the Republican Party, 75 percent of [GOP voters] think there is something to it; 25 percent think he wasn’t born in this country — in the meantime . . . I’m leading, or tied for the lead, in virtually every poll.

Man, if Trump keeps this up, he'll be a top contender for sure. For the reasons he already stated.

Basically put, people are fed up with Obama, the Dems and hard line/old school Repubs. Similar to Sarah Palin's appeal it appears for now. This is resinating in people Big Time.

Who knows, maybe those two could join up and put a REAL CHANGE in place in D.C. Not the change Obama brought to the table.

I rather give them a try than give Obama 4 more years to continue this path he is on. You?

How is he going to just take the oil? Is he going to personally fund his children in a family funday ground war or is he going to ask us to pay to send troops into another ground war? Or is he just going to go over there and talk tough?
Maybe someone should get him an internet connection so he can take a look at that BC like the rest of us and then concentrate on this ground war he is gonna run on.

Maybe he plans on just sounding good/tough. You know, spew a ton of B.S., wrap it up in a good looking TV ad/video and see what happens.

It worked for Obama.

Out of the two, I would prefer Trump. And, not because he's white (to put a halt to all you real racist out there ready to pounce). Because he is a successful busniess man and at this point, we need that.

Not the crap coming down for the top now. My opinion, of course.

The last thing I want to see is the same party controlling the White House and Congress. A measure of hope can be seen with gridlock.

I do like the way Trump speaks out though. Palin seems to know that Americans are suckers for novelty. They would elect a woman president just so to say "the first ever"....

It doesn't matter how he would do it, the whole reason for stating that he would do it is to get elected. This is "campaign rhetoric" meaning a politician says whatever it is they need to say to get elected and when it comes time to actually do it, claim that it was just rhetoric. Same thing Obama did. Same thing they all do...

Talk is cheap.

I'm very suspect of Trump. When something seems too good to be true, it usually is. I would not doubt that Trump, being one of the rich elites is in on something. My red flag goes up whenever I think about it. The American people are being set up, and Americans are gullible, looking for that silver lining in the sky. Just the way most were when Obama ran.

From what I've read he donates lots of money to democrats too.

patriotupdate.com...

Yes he is a tough talker, we'll see what happens. Personally I think its not right to just go into another country and "take their oil". I think thats a horrible idea.

Anyone who wants to get elected needs to put on a Yamika and give a speech to AIPAC first. If Trump does that, he's already bought.

We need someone tough as President.
Bush was hated, but was feared to some extent.
Trump will not bow down to other countries like our current President but
this is not the way to go about it though. This will start WW3

Are those his words, from a US presidential wannabe???!!!

The puppet Bush, manipulated by the republican lobbyists for their corporatists buddies and the military industrial complex had been trying for 10 long years in Afghanistan to take its resources and what happened? The american masses still paid dollar for oil, american corporatist kept out but NOT their shareholding foreign companies that benefitted hugely as well as the military industrial complex.

Same thing with Iraq. Our courageous and valiant but naive soldier boys died there, american masses paid top dollar still for oil, but the corporations and MI complex benefitted the most.

Another clear evidence of the elities' agenda on humanity. The elitist Trump wants another repeat in Libya? Does he think the american masses are stupid???!!! If he gets elected to the most powerful office on Earth, then heaven help us all please.....

I am at a loss of words, to think that the Republican
Party has gone from such great statesman as Theodore
Roosevelt and Dwight D. Eisenhower to this, Donald
Trump. Tell me, how can Trump possibly help our
country? What professional political experience does he
have that could make him a good President? Tell me,
what besides his billion dollar net worth makes him
worthy of the office or does experience mean
absolutely nothing?

It’s these bleeding heart conservatives, you read that
right, that are making me so darn angry. Who cares
about this birth certificate issues? It’s a moot point,
he already presented it to you all the birthers want is
something to attack a Democrat over, that is it! The
majority of Americans think birthers are completely
insane so what are you trying to do, intentionally give
Obama another term? I am beginning to think that is
your agenda. He’s not going anywhere! Get over it! He
is the President and will fulfill his elected term in office
and if you people keep it up he will have another term.

Seriously what do you think Trump could possibly do for
this country? The man has an inflated ego and is just a
billionaire celebrity who has absolutely no idea what it’s
like to even be upper middle class in this country. He
has never been Senator, Congressman, state
representative, governor, or even mayor! Obama didn’t
have the experience as is being demonstrated now but
he at least served several years in elected office.

You know what it’s these evangelicals, birthers, and
far-right fringe which will drag the GOP into the history
books, not anything else. This party was meant to be
one governed by rational and calm people who believed
dearly in law and order. Republicans do not run around
wearing their emotions on their sleeve, that is 1960s and
70s Liberals. The evangelicals will sell their soul to
anyone who preaches about God and gays, the
Neocons care not which party they belong to so long
as there is a war and their making profits.

Look what you are doing to this party! We have
Huckabee, Palin, Trump, and Bachmann out ahead in
the lead, Romney is still there thankfully but even he is
a joke! Republicans have to get it together and quick.
Our focus should be on balancing the budget (which
includes raising income taxes on the rich), defending
our nation (not running around the world starting wars),
cutting back on unnecessary regulations (and
implementing new ones that will make our economy
more stabile, i.e. glass-steagull).

The Republicans could be working to make American
solvent again but they would rather play politics and
run around following morons. Mitch Daniels was right
that we need a truce on all social issues so we can
focus on the economy. And I say ‘conservatives’ need
to stop this whole fiasco which is now looking more
like a sideshow.

Just look at this poll.

Obama v. Romney - 46% to 45%

Independents - Romney 45% to Obama 42%
Moderates - Romney 35% to Obama 54%
Under 45 - Romney 39% to Obama 56%

Obama v. Huckabee - 48% to 43%

Independents - Huckabee 44% to 41%
Moderates - Huckabee 34% to 59%
Under 45 - Huckabee 41% to 51%

Obama v. Palin - 56% to 34%

Independents - Palin 35% to Obama 52%
Moderates - Palin 23% to Obama 67%
Under 45 - Palin 30% to Obama 66%

Obama v. Trump - 54% to 38%

Independents - Trump 42% to Obama 46%
Moderates - Trump 26% to Obama 65%
Under 45 - Trump 37% to Obama 58%

How about Trumps' $50,000 donation to Rahm Emanuel?

How about Trumps' Thousands of dollars in donations to Charles Schumer, Anthony Weiner, Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, Bill Nelson, Kirsten Gillibrand, and other Democrats?

Does the guy have a split personality or is he a wolf in
sheep’s clothing? Either way I don’t like, trust, or
support the guy in any way, shape, or form.

The guy's not presidential material, he's a greedy speculator and opportunist. So he'd just go into Libya and get the oil? Just like we did under Bush Jr. with Iraq, and how did that work out for us? Not so good, but then again opportunists like him aren't spilling their own blood for oil, they have poor people to do that.

Some one needs to go read Smedley Butler's "War is a racket", that was written with the Donald Trumps and G.W. Bush's in mind.

Well, it didn't work out because Bush lied about it.

If someone actually wants to be honest about being a dominating force in the world and also be honest about the motives for war, I would support them.

At least then, people aren't being lied to.

It will happen either way...

He's declared bankruptcy a lot. How is he successful? It's not like when it gets tough he can just say "Hey, China, f you. I'm declaring bankruptcy so stop having your debt collectors call us."

www.mademan.com...

In 1991, unable to pay a $3.5 billion loan, he declared business bankruptcy. He also came close to filing personal ruin. At the time, his personal debt was estimated to be around $900 million. Due to the bankruptcy, banks and bondholders lost millions.

Not even a year later, Trump Plaza Hotel folded and Donald had to declare bankruptcy. Again, he worked out a deal where he’d give up 49 percent of the hotel to Citibank and the other lenders and he’d get more time to pay the loan back. It took him two years to repay most of his debt with many sacrifices. He had to give up the Trump Shuttle.

The bankruptcy saga didn’t stop there. In 2004, Donald filed for bankruptcy protection and restructured his debt. He reduced his ownership of Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts to 27 percent and gave bondholders stocks to help lower his debt and then stepped down as CEO.

Unfortunately the reemergence didn’t last long. On February 17th 2009, Donald Trump filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy with a debt ratio of $50 million in assets to his $500 million in debt. This filing made the third bankruptcy for Trump Enterprises.

He did work it out and rebound each time though. That took some savvy, but his investors lost big time. What's he going to do, give our debtors American territory? Give up Alaska? Sell off the national parks? All I've heard from him (and Obama for that matter) is blustering. No real options.

I want a guy like this:

Personally i have very mixed feelings about our intervention in Libya. I'd rather we not be involved but i have much less of a problem with the fact that it is a UN led mission with the UK and France doing most of the heavy lifting and letting US airpower (where we most certainly excel) do most of our part. However, Trump's statement that he'd "just take it" is total nonsense. First off the rest of the world would turn on us, second its completely and utterly WRONG. How about lets just invade everybody, then we'll control EVERYTHING and have ALL the oil and all the gold and...oh wait...every nation who's tried it has burned to cinders which is what they deserved.

Trump can't manage his own finances for more than a decade at a time without going bankrupt, he changes his positions on issues based on whatever makes him sound the best to people at the time and a big part of me believes that he's only doing this for publicity or to make the other republican candidates seem more stable and viable. We shall see, but I am absolutely sure that the 2012 election cycle is going to be nasty on a scale not seen in ages.

Trump basically said that he would just go in and steal their oil. That is the character of this potentioal Presidential candidate. The fact that anyone could actually consider voting for him befuddles me.

Donald Trump personifies what is wrong with this country. A complete lack of morality. And for the record I haven't been to a church for 15+ years.

If they declare that is the reason for an invasion, that is better than making stuff up and going on on 'moral' grounds is it not? At least it would be transparent.

I am not agreeing with invading countries that have oil, but I think it is far better to let everyone know why you are using military action, as opposed to making it appear as something noble.

Just curious.
