As you stated OP the father is likely to be the killer, as Incidents like this they usually are, It usually a dirvorce or an affair that triggers such a disguting act of violence. And the father is somewhere either hiding or dead from self inflicted wounds.(well we can hope).
Hopefully they catch whom ever committed this disgusting act soon, and the victims get justice.
