this is yet another downside to the gmos out there

Can not agree with you more. Our scientists think we are way above the laws of the natural world. The natural world is what sustains us! How in the heck can we accept these people interjecting GMO into our crops. If the animals won't eat it, why should we? Oh, brother.....I am with you on this one.

What if it's not bee deaths, but bees not being born? Is pollen not the food and energy source for everything a bee does and makes? What if this gmo food pollen is like a bees version of a fast food only diet?

This is going to transform into another human hating "WE ARE NOT ABOVE NATURE!!!!!!!" thread. Strange though, as we have modified nature to provide us with medicine and our computer. It is natural for us to modify nature as nature has provided us with the ability to do so.

i dont know, kind of hard to tell personaly. they claim they identifyed some fungus or bacteria that is the real cause so they might not even be looking at it from this perspective of the pollen being the problem

this is aiming to be a bit differnt, i know all the good advantages of gmos, but this is just showing one of the bads, and a way we might try to fix the problem. i just think that we need to know more before we unleash something new into the world

And I agree with you. Maybe once this is through we will be develop a solution to this problem and even better GMO.

Maybe the bacteria and fungus is what's doing the destroying, but the pollen is what's allowing that specific type of fungus to form compared to naturally occurring pollen?

it seems like a valid theory

of corse the fungus could just be a coverup for the real problem who knows

could be the aliens creting this to get rid of them for all we know

nah it's more than likely part of the hidden agenda of the secret order of the keepers of the bees.
They are betting big on the honey commodities on wall street and this is part of their collusion to skyrocket their prices and profits.

With all respect... I can't believe what I am reading in this thread! Are you sure you did a research on what GMO (genetically modified organisms) is and what it does? How can you say it's good? I am shocked! Now you are saying that Monsanto is a good "guy". At least request a payment from them for your advertising. GMO is a killer. It is a poison! It causes cancer, ruins our immune system. Now I am not surprised we can not put a ban on it in USA or Canada. Too many "smart" people supporting it. Do research. Do not just google it and look at the 1st page. Check different searching engine or at least some other pages of google. Don't make statements like that without knowing anything about it. It is very dangerous and irresponsible!

with gmo we have done things like signifigantly increase the crop yeild(important in growing populations) as well as develop things like cloting agents for hemopheliacs. what we have not done is enough testing on all parts, somethings should be done with gmo and some not, i also do not think that monsanto should be abusing peiopkle with them the way they do, so there i am not in complete favour for gmo but still support reaserch

yes, saving people from hunger by killing them slowly with poison. The way many if not most people live today I would not even call life. Sick, obese, etc...

fro the record all the grain barley and grapes are gmo hybrids and have been that way since world war 2 or earlyeir its just a differnt concept that what we know today.

cabbage, lettuce, brussel sprout, colard, kale cauliflower were all modified breeds of wild mustard so their genetics were also modified.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if the two are linked. GMO's have pesticides, herbacides engineered into them and are created to be infertile. While maybe not specifically designed to kill off bees many of those chemicals contain some form of neurotoxins and studies have shown that bees are forgetting how to get home to their hive. It's a bit scary considering bees have survived sprayed pesticides and that may be showing us that there are higher concentrations in GMO's.
