Feminists don't consider Palin, Thatcher, Rand, nor Rice role models because they don't have beliefs and practices that are consistent with feminism. Palin's idea of society and of a family is seen as backwards by them, perpetuating gender roles and such.

Perpetuating gender roles? I thought feminism was defined as the empowerment of women such as is the case with the women listed?

And how are these women perpetuating gender roles having positions that used to be held by men mostly

You see its hard to make sense of, unless one sees the creepy Communist agenda that drives modern "Feminism".

Feminists?.. lol...

When will people finally get over lame-ass divide & conquer stereotypes they heard from someone else?.. "feminists", so called, don't hate / dislike sarah palin, people do.

If one woman labeled a "whore" expresses an opinion, does she speak for all whores??.. lol....because hey, all whores must think alike. Kinda like how whoever this person is doesn't necessarily speak for others. Even if she does, how many? was she elected? and why should anyone care?

sarah palin is relevant only on television.. easily ignored like millions of other uninteresting strangers. Shes a predictable partisan character starring in a fictional political drama where party differences, and your vote, actually matter..

Sarah Palin is a shame for every human being on earth included the woman. She is heartless, cold and unemphatic. She likes consume, oil, power and she has100 dead animals in her office.
What she says is dumb, stupid and unreflected every time when she opens her mouth. She is not only intellectual limited, she is also a tool of the industry to brain wash the uneducated people to fight for the right side (and shovel their own grave). The whole republicans are corporatist and rich people, they can buy tv-station and manipulate everything as long as the sheep believe this crap. And because they are distracted by unimportant stuff like a birth certificate and Fox tv-shows and consume every # nobody needs they make you also a tool. The most stupid will defend their stupidness as right and freedom and sell their souls to the god or destruction. The overstupid of the silliest people will vote for palin because she is hot. OH MY!!!!

Now ask again. - Educated Swiss POV.

Probably true. She is actually not playing the oppressed little victim of "the patriarchy" but instead the good looking, highly productive book author, governor, television star, mother, hunter and a hundreds of other abilities. The feminists who hate her hate her because they would love to be in her position but cant - and blame men for it.

Palin is compassionate and warm-hearted.

What she says is dumb, stupid and unreflected every time when she opens her mouth.

What she says is purposeful and inspiring every time she opens her mouth.

These are some quotes by well-known democrats and about Sarah Palin:

"what I feel for her privately could be described as violent, nay, murderous, rage. When Palin spoke on Wednesday night, my head almost exploded from the incandescent anger boiling in my skull". - Jessica Grose

"If Palin ever visited New York, she would be “gang-raped by my big black brothers". - Jessica Bernhard

"Palin is a f***cking retard" - Stephen Colbert

"small towns, that’s the part of the country she really likes going to because that’s the pro-America part of the country. You know, I just want to say to her, just very quickly: F***ck you" - John Steward

"Sanctimonious, holier than thou, exploitative, undignified, pedantic, childish, self-inflicting, insipid, backwards, embarrassing, over-reactive, overreaching, or as Peggy Noonan summed it up, with the succinctness I have obviously long since abandoned — yammering". - Keith Olbermann

I think I understand why feminists generally dislike ANY empowered woman that is not a communist, socialist or liberal. Its because their agenda is not about empowering women but about promoting political agendas.

That's all it is. In the end, its all about protecting the small, but reliable majority of women who vote Democratic in national level elections. For years, the left has successfully cultivated an image of conservative women as being dumpy homemakers who are subservient to the husband. In doing so, they've created the illusion that a modern, career-minded woman only has one political option. When someone like Palin comes along, it threatens to tear down the left's little stereotype, and in doing so, potentially poses a major threat to their voting base. If a few percentage points among women were to permanently shift away from the Democratic party, they'd struggle to ever be competitive in national level elections. Needless to say, they can't allow that to happen and will do whatever they have to do to destroy her political career or that of any other nationally recognized conservative woman.

She is a success because she doesn't have a college degree. Not having gone to college means she was spared the usual on-campus feminism that turns talented and able women into raging men-hating lunatics.

You might want to re-check that. Palin does have a bachelor's degree in communications.

Clearly you've never seen pictures of a young Gloria Steinem. Honestly, way hotter than Sarah Palin any day. She even worked as a Playboy bunny (yes that's her) at a Playboy Club as research for one of her books.

Thats where radical feminists get their views of men. They seek out the most misogynist environment imaginable and then take that as an example of what men are like.

You're missing the point entirely.
Feminists don't support people like Palin not because she's an "empowered" woman, but because her beliefs don't line up with what feminists believe.

Dont feminists believe women should be in higher positions, professionally?

Women are just more political left, because they are more sensitive then men. They are more social and care more about the weak and minorities.
Sarah Palin has not one typical female quality. She is a man with a pussy. She kills animals for fun, spreads hate and divides the people. Women are no gun freaks, loud crude attention seeking people. Tell me just one thing that is pleasant at this Woman.

"She is hot" - yea i know.
"Weapon is freedom", ah okey.
"Drill Baby, drill" - with my fist?
"I read them all" - yea me too.

So contrary to the commonly accepted definition, the agenda has less to do with empowering women and more to do with feeling sorry for minorities?

Sarah Palin has not one typical female quality.

I and many others think she is VERY female. We also think many feminists look very male.

She kills animals

Do you feel sorry for the animals?

Have you ever eaten fish?

spreads hate and divides the people

If someone holds a different political view than you, does that mean they spread hate?

"She is hot" - yea i know.

Yes she is.

"Drill Baby, drill" - with my fist?

Yes. Palin becoming the first female President would seriously shake the basis of their ideology and also win many votes for the other side.

sarah has got it so much over anyone, that's why.

gloria used up her mandate 30yrs ago.

how many here remember the movement? fear of flying et al?

who met them in collage and dating?

while it was a good thing to bring focus on the glass ceiling and equality into the workplace, now these gals are just a political group, not even a movement anymore.

they hate her because she kicked feminism up a notch without the radical rhetoric and without a man to blame.

sarah went back to basics just by being herself and they hate it.

I don't know if I am a feminist or not.
I am a well educated (believe it or not, lol) SAHM who likes to cook and take care of my family.
I think though that women should be free to do what they want, including having a stable enough economy so that they can be SAHMs if that's what they want.

I don't like her because of the whole Pastor Murtha thing, and the fundy Pentacostal thing, ....the let's dictate what can be in our library and what can't based on MY religion thing, and the whole let's pass the baby during the convention so EVERYONE can see that I had my baby (chest beat) I HAD MY BABY!, and the "I can see Russia from my house" thing, and the shooting wolves from helicopters.

I don't like her one bit.

Considering the premise of the thread is predicated on the premise that she has a vagina so other persons with vaginas should support her pretty much demonstrates the sum total of understanding the female mind begins and ends with the turn of a stiff page.

Maybe it is because I am a woman, and while I find her attractive and easy on the eyes, it doesn't mess with any of my buttons, lol, but to me she's very smart in a very political sort of way, but she doesn't seem very wise or humble, or very honest.

Like during the campaign...for example...she spent money that wasn't even hers to polish up her image with new clothes and really went all in for the look - but she didn't seem to ever hit the books or read the news. I didn't see her improve on the issues much at all during the campaign. The whole convention pass the baby thing was disgusting to me. It was SHOW! She's ALL show and no substance to me.

She had that tanning bed in her office as governor. How could any republican that got so upset over John Edwards haircut NOT see a lot of the same traits in Palin?
