Want to play? Recognize these alleged UFO!

In these times of trouble and doubts, what about some fun and pratice?

The goal of this thread is double:
- Practise to not let our eyes fool us
- Educationnal, as the misidentification and misinterpretation of "UFO" is such an huge field, and at least more than we think.

I will use my UFO files (from personnal investigations and from ATS and other forums archives as well) to propose each day five photographies that have been proved (or are known) to be either misidentifications or misinterpretation of natural phenomena. And sometimes fakes....

I'll give the answers each time one day later.

I'll say :

2 = butterfly
3 = long exposure shot of a helicopter with searchlight on

Great idea! But I feel stupid not knowing the easy or very easy!

The first picture is a brilliant shot and I would like to say it's a missile test gone weird, but am afraid of riddicule (welcome to ATS!). Or maybe the space shuttle? Nah... I take that back...

#3 - Reflection of a desk lamp in a window. BAM! What prize do I win!

#4 - Looks like some of the debris that is on the ground... maybe something flying up from the combine?

Nice thread idea.

for number 3, I really like the above posters lamp reflection on window thing.

for #4, I want to say it's a baseball, for some reason I see a baseball.

#5 I'm going guess is lightning related.

Good idea, and cool pics, but I don't know.
#1 Definitely a cool picture. Probably long exposure but I have no idea of what.
#2 I couldn't look at whatever is inside the circle, because I was more concerned with the black area to the left of it, and the limbs underneath the black part.
#3 woohoo I got one. Airplane. long exposure.
#4 A (most likely wrong)guess- something that flew out of the combine.
#5 a giant orange.

Everyone have made great efforts anyway.... and some already have good answers...

#1: Absolutely no idea. The colours are so vivid and the design so unique I almost want to say it is photoshopped.
#2:most definitely a photo of a bird from a strange angle.
#3:Very hard to identify but as you can see it is at a great distance based on the light its producing reflecting off the ocean. If its not a UFO i may be inclined to assume it could be some sort of long exposure shot. Of what...dont ask me.
#4: That object in the sky looks strikingly similar to the two orbs on the back of the red truck.
#5: uhh.....search light?

I like this game
you should include one unexplainable photo in the next game to add some depth

Also, something appears to be aloof in #2. What is going on with the foliage from the tree? Upon closer inspection photo number 2 appears to be taken from the reflection of a pool of water as you can see by the wave patterns on the left side of the photogrpah about 3/4s up. which leads me to believe it is partially submerged plant life or some object

It looks nothing like a helicopter with its searchlight on.
Instead it looks like one of those famous cigar shape UFO's.

2. Couldn't find a good source with info, but yeah its a bird

3. I remember seeing this one and someone said it was a helicopter over a long exposure time

4. Having trouble finding this one as well, seems to me that it could be a soccerball someone kicked into the air

5. Darn it, couldn't find that one either, it could be one of four things: Airliner decending from the clouds, the city lights imposing onto the clouds, lightning, or perhaps a spotlight beam reflecting off the clouds.

Those would be my guesses and I'm pretty sure I got the first three right

I knew that some will try it, that's why I only put one or two image that will work with tineye. (and sometimes none

), otherwise it would be too easy!

Edit: Tineye is a reverse image search engine

All the others seem right to me, so yeah

#3 is the same type of UFO as was seen in China last year.

I win (btw I know you said it's a fake, but it looks similar to this).
