And bringing Machiavelli into just adds to the confusion because many people have no idea who he was or what he wrote.

You have to be able to confront evil to investigate this stuff. You have to be able to "think like a criminal" if you want to spot them. But you don't have to be one!

This "research" proves nothing and accomplishes nothing positive.

What I accomplishes is more and more isolation of free thinkers like us. The want us to turn to each other. When the sheep accept the condition these studies revealed. We would be pushed more and more in a corner. Until you are exterminated. And the people see you as part of the problem.

These programmed people take social institutions and rules very seriously. Society is full of games programmed to keep peoples’ minds occupied so they will not revolt. These games often cause sick fixations on peculiar protocols, power structures, taboos and domination - all subtle forms of human bondage - This distinct form of madness is not only tolerated by the masses but insisted upon. The programmed ones believe in rules so forcefully they become willing to destroy anyone who violates them. Wayseers are the ones who call their bluff. Since Wayseer minds are free to reject social programming, Wayseers readily see social institutions for what they are - imaginary games. Wayseers comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable. Helping those who are lost in these games and refuse to help themselves is a calling of many Wayseers. Since Wayseers are the ones who keep contact with the original source of reality - they are able to disrupt societal conventions and even governments to realign humanity with the Way. The Wayseers are an ancient lineage. A kind of priesthood - carriers of the flame - ones "in the know." There must always be Wayseers to reform the dizzying psychotic spinning gears of society - giant mindless hamster wheels obscuring the pure blue sky, keeping humanity shackled in a darkened cage - so Wayseers are called - to shed light on the madness of society - to continually resurrect the timeless transcendent Spirit of Truth - Wayseers reveal this divine truth by devoting themselves to the birth of some creative or disruptive act expressed through art or philosophy, innovations to shake up industry, revolutions for democracy, coups that topple hypocrisy, movements of solidarity, changes that leave a legacy, rebellions against policy, spirit infused technology, moments of clarity, things that challenge barbarity, watersheds of sincerity, momentous drives for charity We are - all - the same - you know ‘cuz we’re all affected by the way - We are - all - the same - you know ‘cuz we’re all attracted to the flame - This is your calling, Wayseer. Oh b.s. Most of the conspiracy researchers I've listened to are trying desperately, often at great risk to their lives, to shine the light on the powers of darkness that create corporate monopolies, war and mayhem (as Gen. Smedley Butler clearly stated 70 some yrs ago.) Shine the light on them, they scatter like cockroaches, as Kevin Smith of the Kevin Smith Show says (not the Kevin Smith director); or Mel Fabregas of Veritas, or Coasttocoast, and so many individual researchers such as G. Edwar Griffin, Peter Levenda, Wayne Madsen, and poor murdered Dorothy Kilgallen who knew too much too soon about the JFK murder.

This kind of "finding" is just a way to try and shut us up from any attempt at exposing the criminals who run this world. As for falling into the same trap ourselves, the founders of this country foresaw that trap and created 3 branches of governments along with various checks and balances. Not perfect but at lest the saw the danger and tried to do something about forestalling it.

Try again to shut us up about "conspiracies." Realizing that the world runs on conspiracy doesn't require any deeper thinking than clear common sense and skepticism of establishment authority. And it's too late to deter us by stigmatizing. We know too many of the names and we even know where some live.

Apparently social habitat wasn't taken into consideration either. This is another "experiment" with an end goal in mind. Basically, the researchers were told to prove 'conspiracy theorists' are crazy, and thats what they set out to do. The whole thing is bs, and I would like to disregard it, but the fact is, that ppl that don't even know me or us, is going to read this, and automatically ASSume that the info is correct and not read anymore into it. Just wish the info that I gave ppl was as readily consumed as this BS.

When someone gets too close to the truth, what is the best way to deal with it? Discredit the person making the claim; a la make all CT'ers look like crack-pots.

Those who can't debate the argument, debate the man instead.

I for one would partake in covering up the landing of the moon if the circumstances presented themselves. Maybe be a secret government agent covering up alien landings or a hidden agenda.

With that said, I think that one you become a "conspiracy theorist" it opens your eyes to a new way of thinking. Your mind steps out of the box and begin to look at things with skepticism and bias. You don't believe everything that is presented to you by the media on a silver platter. You begin to question the very information that is provided to you everyday. You wonder what really happened? What are they not telling us?

If having an open eye for being lied to everyday and not trusting the media is a bad thing, then count me in.

The article is in itself of Machiavellian nature and only misleads and deceives the reader while not being totally wrong at the same time.

Thinking is generally linked to the brain. Stating the obvious here, but every thought is in some way linked to everything else in your mind and you can point out wacky connections in any combination you want and in any way you wish to focus peoples attention at. The actual punchline of the original post seems to be biased and not a real objective scientific study on the subject.

The problem with conspiracy theorists (other than unsubstantiated beliefs) is they think they got the whole world figured out, as if it can be simplified into a comic book style narrative with clear "goodies" and "baddies". Fact of the matter is, the world is chaotic and complex, with many powerful people with opposing self-interests, not some pantomime plot with the dastardly "PTB" orchestrating the world.
