is America now an Oligarchy??

for those who don't know and Oligarchy is a type of government, where the power is controled by a few people (to put it very simply).

In our day and age money equals power, bill gates has more power then say a single mom in Harlem.

If money equals power then the U.S. is run by the richest 1%.

The top 1% of Americans own as much wealth as the bottom 95% percent.

america is still a democracy but wit more generous tax breaks to the richer, will america become an Oligarchy in the near future?.

I believe that most Western countries would qualify as Plutocracies. I would call the current administration in the US a plutocratic OIL-igarchy.

But the answer to your questions in essence is yes. A small group of people control the evolution of our society and the quality of our lives. This is not classical democracy. We have never seen that in the history of the entire world.

lets not kid ourselves, the country is run by the large corporations that get people elected, like they don'r expect anything for all that money-PLEASE!

Agreed. Those who were first to prosper in the early years most likely have most control now. It's big business that says how it goes, not the people (the vast majority)...
