One has to be careful in labeling such a person. They could have narcissistic qualities, DO think they know it all, or just perhaps they worry about you and want to help the best way they can even if the advice isn't knowledgeable. Some people may have a low confidence level, lack enough education and are trying hard to fit in. You are either going to have to accept this person for the way they are or, you are going to have to walk away.

And I happen to think that what you see is what you get with him. Aside from being a lawyer and a politician, I really like the guy and I don't buy that all this crap about his past has any relevance on the state of his presidency or the issues in the US.

Racism aside, this topic is interesting to me on epistemological grounds. How do we know things and how do we prove we know things? What evidence is sufficient and satisfying to people?

Donald Trump may have funny hair but he is a very shrewd businessman. One of the papers here in Toronto covered some kind of business deal he did with a local businessman and went into a lot of details about the contract. My jaw dropped. Trump had himself covered from losses possible as a result of the deal, sixty ways to Sunday. Dealing with him must be like arm wrestling a gorilla who ties both your hands behind your back.

He's far from stupid, but he isn't quite satisfied about the birth thing.

Obama seems like a very nice guy. His political choices in certain areas are hard to differentiate from choices one would expect from George W. Bush. That is disturbing to me. America is disturbing to me. We live in disturbing times. Maybe that is why people who knew him and his family in Hawaii when he was a child aren't rushing forward to get involved.

At the crucial time of his birth and youth, it is possible that very few people in Hawaii knew them. Those who did may have passed on. A mixed race couple may have been shunned to some extent in 1961, particularly if one of the couple came from a foreign country.

Trump has enough money to do a proper investigation of Barack Obama's backround, if he really wants to. It probably would be shrewder to investigate the backround of the president's mother, Ann Dunham, though. Pregnant women generally have friends who help them, who remember helping them and who know all the details relevant to a birth.

Trump should be looking for those people.

I believe the following: the more complicated a conspiracy theory is the more untrue it tends to be.
When one holds another to a standard that is impossible to fulfill
When one disregards, denigrates, dismisses or undermines the accomplishments of another even in the face of incontrovertible proof of these accomplishments,
When one wants another to provide an endless supply of documentation (birth certificates, college degrees, work histories) and is never satisfied regardless of how much is provided,
When one can never be satisfied regardless of what the other person does, what positions they take, what decisions are made by them....there is always a constant complaint...
If a fact is presented and there is no coherent reason given as to why it should not be believed, it is because the one who does not believe it simply chooses not to.
When all other things are equal (or more than), there is nothing left except for some kind of "ism"
