This pretty daring act, in my opinion, those guy playing the apostles and JC got crucified every year.
They clearly take Christianity up a notch.
I think this guy playing JC

Wouldn't it be interesting if the Pope and Bishops tried this from time to time.

They would almost have me convinced if they did. . . NOT

I would never do this but I don't think it is that terribly odd.

There is a whole subculture in the US that does essentially the same thing for some sort of spiritual reward.

[en.wikipedia.org...(body_modification)] Wiki link needs to copy and paste because of what they did...

This link will work from a body modification site (If you want to see other things people do to their bodies you could spend hours there)

wiki.bmezine.com...

From talking to people who do the suspension ( Above link yes people hang themselves up with meat hooks) they get some sort of a spiritual experience from the pain.

I'll stick to meditation thanks.

I'm not a fan of Christianity but I wanted to throw that out there before anyone came along and thought it was a Christian only thing.

I think the suspension is no different in either risk or reward from what I can tell.

On a side note, this is nothing compare to the annually ritual that Malaysia or Hong Kong people have every year.

I was stationed there from 1984-86. Me and a group of friends would get a bunch of beer and watch the festivities. Some of those guys would whip themselves into a bloody frenzy. It was insane to watch. The food and drink vendors made a killing though.

Does this prove that the Jesus man did in fact survive his crucifiction?
