Pentagon contradicts Napolitano's Mexican border assessment

www.examiner.com

For months the nation’s Homeland Security Secretary has repeatedly insisted that everything is safe and secure on the southwest border, even as violence escalates and overwhelmed federal agents are increasingly attacked by heavily armed drug smugglers.
top Pentagon official contradicts Napolitano's fairytale assessment, pointing out that Mexican criminal organizations extend well beyond the southwest border to cities across the country, including big ones like Atlanta, Chicago and Detroit.

So how serious is it really????

Well for sometime now the words "Mexico" and "Failed State" have been bantered around... after all they just found another Mass grave... body count is now at 145 and still climbing...

here's another quote...

Addressing a U.S. Senate hearing this week, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Counternarcotics and Global Threats William Wechsler warned lawmakers that all their constituencies are confronted by the threat of Mexican drug cartels.

Even more alarming is that once in the United States, the Mexican criminal groups are becoming more dangerous by forming networks with each other and insurgent or terrorist groups. In some regions the “threat networking" not only engages in drug trafficking but kidnapping, armed robbery, extortion, home invasions and other serious crimes.

The threat is so great that the assistant Defense Secretary offered federal legislators military assistance in the name of protecting national security.

So this one issue the one no one official wants to comment on... sure looks like it's about to blow up in our faces and when it does.... and we have millions of Mexicans fleeing north... Napolitano can paint a positive spin on it.... Nothing to worry about... just a gardeners convention

The pentagon is tasked with securing the nation.
Why the hell aren't they defending us like they should?
If it's really that bad it's time for action not just talk.

A few AC 130 gunships, Apache's, Cobras and A 10's can patrol the border day and night and defend us from the evil Mexican Drug Lords.

well it's not like the pentagon is sitting on its hands either...
just a few months ago we had another quite disturbing news story... Massage US Spy hub in Mexico

Mexican Magazine Proceso reveals the location of a US Military-Intelligence Megaplex in Mexico City.

-Megaplex includes offices for the CIA, FBI, DEA, Defense Intelligence, BATF, Department of Treasury and others.

- U.S. Intelligence Operatives will no longer have to disguise themselves as diplomats.

- Mexico will now have a Military ‘Liaison’ for NORTHCOM.

- U.S. is now in charge of all tactical efforts against the drug war, counter-insurgency, and counter-terrorism in Mexico.

- Obama and Hillary Clinton are credited for the creation of the Office of Bi-lateral Intelligence in Mexico (OBI).

No they can't..
They are too busy in Iraq,Afghanistan and now Libya..
Not to mention the other hundreds of bases around the world..

There's just not enough man power and equipment in the US defense force to, umm, defend the US..

The only wrinkle I see is that these criminal organizations can easily acquire the hardware to pose a military threat. Then what?

Of course, besides that, I have to worry about how many completely innocent Americans of Hispanic heritage will be brutalized over the need for "more security."

I expect that may to some it may appear that the entire reason the Federal government hasn't done anything meaningful yet is because they are waiting for it to become ugly enough to carry out the next part of their "continuity of governance' plan - also known as the "Corral them up into camps and let the UN take over" plan.

Agreed. Along with 65ft walls, landmines & a non-libtard president.
We've got one hell of a mess to clean up, folks. It needs to stop now.
Those people need to fix their own mess.

Please shut our borders & no more hand-outs.

The process has been acquired from history, we only tweak it. ! Either way, divide and conquer.

American UAS Help Mexico Track Drug Traffickers

Posted on March 21, 2011 by The Editor

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has been flying Predator UAS over Mexico for two years, helping Mexican authorities track suspected drug traffickers. These flights, approved by Mexico but never announced by either country, predate occasional flights into Mexico by the U.S. Air Force’s Global Hawk that began last month

there's a very disturbing pattern starting to emerge in all these stories... dont ya think

the us will never do anything about the southern border never.

and heres why with who we have in the oval office and not wanting to upset the hispanic population

they will not do anything.

the left wants the hispanic vote and for those not yet us citizens amnesty will come eventually.

the border needs to be secured but fat chance it will ever will be.

a nuke could be driven right through there and they would only find out after its been detonated.

the real reasons the whitehouse stop az immigration law is for the reasons listed above.

national security means nothing only their voting block does.

I do think. It looks like the NAU is on the way. They are destroying the dollar to bring in the amero, and flooding us with illegals to eliminate our sovereignty.

Why am I not surprised by this latest disagreement between the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense about the chaos in Mexico and along the US border? I tend to side with DOD's assessment of the situation in Mexico. The tentacles of the drug trade reach far and wide. Moreover, the element is within the United States and every major US city connected to a highway. Lets face it, the government has been downplaying the threat from the Mexican drug cartels and of a spill over of violence taking place in the US. It is a threat to national security, and something has got to be done!

As some have said, it won't happen because any talk of securing the southern border has become the third-rail of American politics. Both sides are guilty of inaction and dereliction of duty as far as I am concerned. They are scrambling to gain the trust and votes from the mammoth voting bloc that the Hispanics are going to have in the near future.

They would rather risk the overall safety and well being of their constituents than face getting routed in an election for fear of possibly alienating a certain demographic. It is insanity, but so is the constant campaign cycle. Nothing gets done, and the country continues to wither away on the vine. Mess with their supply chain, or cut the money flow, and there well be hell to pay. This time, instead of watching it unfold like what happened in Columbia years ago or most recently in Mexico; it will be on the streets of America.

I think they are busy "protecting us from terrorists that want our freedom".

Why would they deal with an issue as pesky as securing our country's borders?

Ugh it disgusts me.

Here's an idea! Lets bring the troops home, give them all house across the border and 50 miles back and tell them not to let any illegals through.

End war, save money and stop illegal immigration all at once! Would that work?

Check out this link: More will die in Mexican drug war

While U.S. officials have long been concerned about the mindless violence bred by Mexico’s bloody and brutal drug wars, they have a new reason to worry: Americans are increasingly getting caught in the deadly crossfire.

Solution:

Bring our troops home, establish 30 foot spread bunkers mounted with 2 50 cal's with enough ammo to light up the country. And give it a free fire zone. Problem solved.

With respect to what has been announced, we all and i mean all are very aware that if the situation is needed that the borders can be locked down within a 52hr period and nothing goes in or out. So before move into that aspect of posting, how far is the public willing to go.

The public is not the problem, the government is. Especially our community organizer in chief, mr teleprompter himself. The public, when given the chance to do so, has voted overwhelmingly in favor of a stronger border and tougher immigration laws.
