NASA:Thousands of Shuttle workers to be let go....

ok so heres something that I read and it reall bothered me...Thousands of Nasa shuttle employees to b let go after the last launch...what a joke!!..these people have been part of some of the most important missions regarding the ISS and others Missions that Nasa has conducted to further the space program...With all these budge cuts that Suckbama and congress are agreeing to,it seems like they are taking all the most important things away while they keep their unecassary wars wasting billions along the way...with all the money they waste on these wars they probably could had people on Mars by now...but at the rate theyre going ill be surprised if we ever do make it past our out atmosphere agian.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla., April 16 (UPI) -- Almost 2,00 workers at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Fla., will be laid off after the last shuttle flight, a contractor says.
The cuts announced by United Space Alliance Friday are no surprise, Florida Today reports. They are likely to unfold in waves July 15, July 22 and Aug. 12.

Last week the company cuts 535 jobs at Kennedy, bringinig the total lost since October2009 to about 2,100. About 3,300 USA employees remain there, along with 2,300 in Texas and Alabama. USA said it expects to cut 1,850 to 1,950 positions at Kennedey,as much as 60 % of its local workforce. It will lose about half of its national workforce.

Nasa has always been a waste of money, and id say it didnt cost lives either, but it has with shuttles blowing up. There is no point.

If nasa wasn't a waste, then it would be owned by a private company, not supported through the governments raping of the public.

I think we new this sometime back when it was noted that the shuttle missions were at the end of the rope..shouldn't be too much of a shock however way to keep them unemployment numbers down..I often mention to friends what would happen if people in the military had the missions end...what the hell would a large part of our armed services do for work if it was not for war??? Just a thought

Am I reading that correctly? "Oh yea... Since the military is for wars and jobs, let's send them do just that." HELLO! HELLO! Instead of killing people halfway around the world they could actually be useful in your border with mexico that I see you guys so worked up about. A country's army isn't supposed to be offensive. Armies are meant to be defensive. They are meant to protect the people against an attack. Not to attack people. Especially not cavemen... Bunch of bullies...

John Kennedy , a Democrat , said , we will land a man on the moon and we will do it within a decade . We will do it not because it will be easy but because it will be hard . Science , research and discovery went into overdrive and more technological achievements were made within that decade than at any other time in human history . Between NASA , prime contractors , sub-contractors , researchers , suppliers , from high school to college science teachers 13 million people went to work directly or non-directly to put those men on the moon with good paying jobs .

Now comes Obama in the exact right time in history for any kind of space shot to employ millions and improve the condition . Instead , he squanders the money . Hundreds of billions of stimulus dollars with absolutely no plan . He gave the Democratic congress blank paper and told them to spend money so we got tunnels for turtles to walk under highways and research into how to grow better grapes for Pelosi . A small man with absolutely no forward vision and he just announced in the budget that community organizers and groups are about to receive 500 million dollars .

You don't have to believe in space exploration but just about every technology we enjoy today came directly from NASA research and if you believe in employment , the the NASA programs put 13 million to work while Obama can't point to one full time job created with hundreds of billions spent except the hiring of totally un-needed federal workers , mostly in the EPA and Department of Justice . Obama missed his space shot when the Democrats controlled both houses and he could have put millions to work building rapid transit , high speed rail and re-building the infrastructure of the country . Instead , most of the last of NASA employees get laid off and the other part of the story is the service industries . For every NASA employee it takes at least 3 employees to service NASA in private business .

We got more out of NASA than was ever spent and had more spent by Obama than will ever be delivered .

Oh yeah.... this could get good! Just imagine some of the information (that is IF in fact NASA has been hiding it) that a disgruntled ex employee(s) may release when this all goes down! After all, this is bound to stir up some emotion amongst the ones who get the axe, and within emotion people tend to let things out prior to giving it thought
