The video says it's being banned in the UK.

Is it banned in the USA?

I just looked it up and its NOT banned in the USA - But I found this great tip. Shop at Kosher markets! There you will know your getting a good cut of meat.

"Meat glue is banned in the EU, but in the US, the FDA classifies it under GRAS (generally recognized as safe). Transglutaminase is not required to be posted on the ingredients list"

I am big meat eater but I only eat grass fed free range organic meat and eggs. 50% of my dairy is as well, but I sometimes its easier to pick up a gallon of milk at the nearest store. At least its hormone free. We have 3 stores in town that sell organic meat that I know of and its only slightly more expensive.

Oh, count me in as another person who was unaware of this., just another reason to go organic.

I am in Cali and I can view it.

Calstrom the problem with organic food is that it is more expensive to produce and therefore for expensive to sell. With the economic situation the way it is around the world, people are finding it harder to afford healthy and quality food items. It begs the question, do you have to wealthy to eat well in this day and age. I'm beginning to think so.

Threads like this remind me to be more conscious in my choices.

If you have never given this a whirl and not on a budget I highly recommend it

The largest purebred group of the Wagyu breed of Akaushi cattle outside Japan is located in Harwood, Texas, owned by HeartBrand Beef. It was raised from a Japanese imported herd of 11 which was guarded by off-duty Texas Rangers to protect from interbreeding for over 12 years until the herd grew to over 5,000 cattle.

The meat contains high concentrations of oleic acid, a heart-healthy fat. Akaushi beef has a high ratio of mono-saturated fats to saturated fats.

If you want to try and help why not join the food revolution Movement trying to get the cheap sugary chemicals out of food.

You can find lots of crappy ingrediants in food you probably have in your home right now.

Question is do you really care enough to change?

Do you alllow you kids to eat commercial chicken nuggets.
MCcrappy hopefully you wont now.

Good Q's...no I don't let my guys eat that crap....I am trying,,,it is hard...just trying to keep afloat..

With all the health risks in this world today, I wonder how bad can this really be? Almost all foods have preservatives, chemicals, and dangerous ingredients. Wouldn't it be good if society could return to doing things the natural way? Don't even get me started on the irradiation of food products.

To my fellow bloggers,

I just learned about "Meat Glue", and after recovering from that information I started thinking about possible alternative uses for Meat Glue. I am wondering if Meat Glue has an application in the Medical Industry for Human Beings? Just a thought.

GordonMartines, thanks for that. Another poster postulated what the meat glue was doing to your insides? I would imagine, in some lesser form, that it is "gluing" you together. Not a nice thought. Essentially, it is a soduim chemical that "melts" the meat together. Nice to know it doesn't taste bad though.
