(Reuters) - As America and China grow more economically and financially intertwined, the two nations have also stepped up spying on each other. Today, most of that is done electronically, with computers rather than listening devices in chandeliers or human moles in tuxedos.

interesting but china has the edge why because they have more people and spend more money than we do.

But the leaked cables and other U.S. government reports underscore how Chinese and other state-sponsored and private hackers have overwhelmed U.S. government computer networks. In the last five years, cyber-intrusions reported to the U.S. Computer Emergency Response Team, a unit of the Department of Homeland Security, have increased more than 650 percent, from 5,503 incidents in fiscal 2006 to 41,776 four years later, according to a March 16 report by the Government Accountability Office.

addition to this they are not only attacking government computer networks here they have been going after any technology they can and that means from private business.

while i do not discount cyber spying on our side the purpose is not the same the us spies to get a better understand of chinese capabilities where as china just wants the technology.

all thoughts and opinions welcome.

this is how china is getting ahead of the us and they are people all they do is steal technology from the west
