Sorry my 0.06 was cut off in the title.but anyway's

What is the reason that comet Elenin is so talked about, but this comet Honda is not?
is it due to size, estimated to be 1.6 kilometers in diameter, what is that about 1 mile or so?

Then we have this Kazuo person saying it is to pass within 0.1 au from earth >>.Kazuo Kino#a's calculation revealed that it will pass only within 0.1 A.U. from the Earth in 2011 August and 2017 February. The approaches will happen about 1 month and a half after the perihelion passage. So the comet will be diffuse but very bright.

What? You have front row tickets to view the end of the earth?

NASA is scared that this comet is going to smash into the prime control gps satellite. That's why they aren't telling anyone. If the prime gps satellite is hit by Honda, then everyone will drive off the roads and crash into trees. So they aren't letting anyone know to avoid the mass panic.

If you'd just doom & gloom it up a bit,
I'm sure you'd have about 140 flags on this post

Why?

Surely if your sat nav tells you to drive off the road then your brain will tell you not to?

Sounds like a good chance to go play tag with it. Comets are cool and mysterious lets get some samples while its leaving tracks in our yard.

Comet Honda isn't the one to worry about. Apparently Comet Toyota is coming by even closer and it won't slow down because the accelerator is stuck.

How could anyone possibly resist this? A Honda will knock out GPS and then it's mayhem. Seriously, the JPL site has it at .07 AU. Link. But, it will be behind us whereas Eleinin will be in front. And thus we will traipse through the debris field of Eleinin. Add to that and Honda will have a lower closing speed because it's an object that's catching up with us.

I don't know you well enough to say you are the antichrist, but nevertheless, you will be 22...which you could also break down to 1+1 = 2...tape this number to the other calculation 1+1=2...and voila, you get 22!!!

Bottom line...just get your popcorn ready for a sky show

No worrys mates, according to the animation we should be doing a very sedate dance with these two visitors this summer and fall....
I doubt theres gonna be much but something for astronomers to photograph.
Gotta lot more near term thiings to worry about...

Today's the day Comet Honda passes really close.
0.601 AU.
Still more than 23 LD (Lunar Distance) from us.

Cheers.

Huh?? You and JPL seem to differ in opinion about it's minimum distance to Earth.

JPL says : 0.0600849777404096 AU

What gives?

Peace
