Which makes me think that maybe this was an "intentional mistake" because nothing he said was incriminating against himself, it was, as you pointed out, something he should be saying in public. The only question is, why doesn't he speak like this in public? Maybe he wanted to test the waters by saying it was merely his personal thoughts and not his official policy.

You make a good point. I haven't figured out Trump yet. He definitely needs to be careful because right now his poll numbers are soaring and what goes up must eventually come down. This should be interesting.

On a side note, I am rather surprised that no early challengers have emerged to try to unseat Obama in the primaries.

I think it is a little like putting your house on the market at the right time.

Anyone that "might" have the chops on the left to unseat Pres. Obama is asking themselves...do I want to spend money and exposure against someone that is relatively strong and the incumbant in a recovering economy?...like or not he is a strong candidate...or do I want to wait for the wide open field in 2016?

I think that some on the right are thinking the same thing. I think it will come down to Romney or Huckabee with Huckabee being my preference amongst the two. If Bachmann enters the race it will make McCain vs. Obama look like a slight honeymoon spat. That woman is crazy, dishonest and viscious. Huckabee will at least (mostly) take it to the Pres. on the issues, which is healthy for everyone.

Regardless I am glad the election is comming. Pres. Obama would have been a better president a 100 years ago when the job didn't require constant press conferences etc. He hates PR and politics in general and wants to be left alone to do his job. The election forces him to get out there and explain himself and his policies ...both good and bad...and I don't think the "people" have gotten enough of that from him.

This election will serve as a 4 year review and it will be healthy to see him have to make a case for the past 4 years.

I am not looking foward to the inevitable BS...Terrorist, Kenyan, Socialist etc etc. When the right feels as if they can't win on the issues, we will see this line of attack come full throttle. That is why I want Huckabee, whatever he is...and he certainly is a politician...he seems to have a moral compass beneath all the posturing he has to do to survive the present climate on the right. He will debate issues if given a chance....Maybe I am being overly generous with him? We will find out.

Duh.......Every one of the quotes you posted have been in the news and discussed thoroughly by commentators. Nothing he has said is any secret.

The President is a Democrat. He will be running for re-election in 2012. Of course he's going to say critical things about the opposition. That's how it works in politics.

Do you imagine that Republicans never plot their strategies or say anything to dis the President? Of course they do.

The two parties are in opposition about many issues, and that's what is causing the deadlock in Congress now.
