THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING. the things you mentioned like women having short hair is an analogy paul used to explain the holy order of god christ man woman. i cor.11.10 "for this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign(longhair) of authority on her head(husband)." 11.6 "if a woman does not cover her head(husband)she should have her hair cut off. and if it is a disgrace to have her hair cut or shave off her hair, she should cover her head(husband)." this is talking about honoring her husband in the lord. you mentioned going to hell for this and other things. you speak nonsense. homosexuality....going to hell....yes. fornication .going to hell.....yes. having hate in your heart and or unforgiveness in your heart toward your brother. going to hell....yes. ect.....ect........ revelation 21.8 but the COWARDLY,unbelieving, vile, murderers, sexually immoral,idolaters,liars,sorcerers......their place is in hell". don't spew nonsense and make it into law. this drives away people from receiving the gospel. brother gene

Whew, I guess it is a good thing I don't believe in the Christian Bible or God. I'd be doomed if I did.

1st question,a copy of the Hebrew-Greek Key Study Bible with notes by Dr. Spiros Zodhiates. Dr. Zodhiates is a native Greek and his work is very impressive. It was his notes which first introduced me to the possibility that perhaps many people have been misreading and misinterpreting 1 Corinthians 14:34,35. In his notes on this passage, he remarked:This would seem to be one of the most powerful and significant arguments against the idea that Paul in 1 Timothy 2 had men and women in general in mind. Apparently, Paul could have specified “male” and “female” in the most general terms as he had done before in Romans 1:26. The fact that he chose to use words that are mainly translated as “husband” and “wife” when in close contextual range of each other makes a more compelling case for the argument that both 1 Corinthians 14 and 1 Timothy 2 may have a more limited application than many would like to admit.

Under no circumstances does the injunction of Paul in 1 Cor. 14:34 indicate that women should not utter a word at any time during the church service…Furthermore, the word gunaikes (1135 in v. 34) should not be translated “women” in its generic sense, but as “wives.” It is wives who should submit (hupotassomai, 5293) to their own husbands (andras, 435, v. 35). The whole argument is not the subjection of women to men in general, but of wives to their own husbands in the family unit as ordained by God.2

Reading this caused me to pause and think. I had not read this argument before. In checking the Greek terms mentioned by Dr. Zodhiates, I found that there was some validity to his points. Indeed, in Ephesians 5:22, where we find the admonition “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord,” the Greek words translated as “wives” and “husbands” are the same as the words normally translated as “women” and “husbands” in 1 Corinthians 14:34,35. So the question naturally follows as to why we have the same Greek word translated one way (“wives” in Ephesians 5:22), but translated a different way (generically “women”) in 1 Corinthians 14:34. This curious situation led me to look more deeply into the passages people use to prohibit women from preaching and teaching. The Greek of 1 Timothy 2:11,12 and Dr. Zodhiates

After looking into the Greek of 1 Corinthians 14:34 and finding that it may have been mistranslated, I then decided to look into the Greek of 1 Timothy 2:11,12. Again, Dr. Zodhiates made this interesting point:

Observe 1 Tim. 2:11. It does not say women but a woman, and better still, a wife. The word in Greek is gune (1135), which indicates either a woman generically speaking or a wife, depending on the context. In this instance, since it stands in apposition to the word andros (the genitive singular of aner here meaning only “husband” and not “man” generically, 435), it must be translated as “a wife.” It is because of the mistranslations of these passages that the Christian world has had so much difficulty in understanding the proper position of a woman in the Christian Church…Verse 12 is again poorly translated in the K.J.V. It should not be “But I suffer not a woman to teach,” but “I suffer not a wife….”3,I,don't preach, but i do spread the gospel, mary mag,did with jesus, and after he died and arose.

Here again, it seems that an important passage used for the argument to prohibit women from preaching and teaching in Christian ministry has been mistranslated. Could it be that for centuries the Church has misused these passages to prohibit women from fully participating in Church ministry because of slight mistranslations? This is how my personal journey began, as I sought to find out the truth behind the proper interpretation of these passages,

2nd question is right,i agree with that,i have long hair to,,3rd question, true, they did then,i know it was law then unless, they did what joseph did.i am glad they don;t now,i,don't what god says now,but i, know we can ask for frogiveness. That's why he died on the cross for us,so we don't go to hell...........4th question...same for that one to,we can ask forgiveness also for this....5th question......"One of illegitimate birth shall not enter the congregation of the Lord." (Deuteronomy 23:2),it does say this, but here we go again, this was all before jesus died on the cross,we can ask forgiveness, and be forgiven.also, jesus said."Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.. this is the only answer to all these questions............The truth of it is... We are wretched, we are sinners. We don't deserve God's love. We were all
born in sin, inherited from our parents, who also were born in sin. Mankind inherited sin from Adam
and Eve, our very first parents, who sinned against God in the Garden of Eden. We all deserve
severe punishment and death, but Jesus didn't!

Over 2000 years ago, God the Father sent Jesus, His only begotten Son, to die for our sins. He
was born of a virgin, and became flesh just as we are, but was without sin because He is God. He
lived a perfect life on earth, obeyed all the commandments on our behalf, and then was crucified on
a cross for all our sins. He rose from the grave on the third day, ascended into Heaven, and now
sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.

God the Father sent Jesus His Son, to die on that cross for our sins. God punished Him on our
behalf. If we died on a cross for our sins, we would deserve it, and that wouldn't satisfy our Holy
and just God. Those who believe and trust in Jesus will be forgiven. Their sins, no matter how many
or how big, will be completely washed clean, white as snow, by the innocent blood Jesus Christ
shed on the cross for us. We are clothed with the Righteousness of Christ, if we trust in Him. 100%
completely forgiven for all our sins, no matter how great or small. We can't earn it, we could never
do enough! It is a gift from God! He gets all the credit, all the Glory, all the Honor!

Jesus loves you just as you are! Right now, today! With all your faults, bad habits, thoughts, past
sins, future sins. Down to the very inner core of your being. He wants to live within you, despite all
your faults and imperfections. He wants to bless you, and help you with every aspect of your life,
and then receive you into His Kingdom, into His arms, to live with Him for eternity!

OP why do you care? I think that you have already proven that you hate God (whom doesn't exist in your mind, yet you keep fighting this imaginary war with) by skimming your hundreds of anti-Christian posts. I would say that in order to understand the author's intent, one would have to read the whole book, but a common sense statement like that would be an insult to your obvious high intelligence. I would also say that if you are actually serious about learning about the Christian faith (and see refutations of the pathetic attempt to confuse not so well versed Christians), than perhaps you should get your info from one of the thousands of reputable dedicated Christian websites, as opposed to the website that is a bastion for athiests and God haters alike... but again, I don't want to insult your intelligence.

you hear but do not hear you see but do not see. open your heart and the word of God will be made clear. accept Jesus and all scripture will make sense.

who can keep the law? why do you condemn everyone? are these God's word or are you twisting them to suit your own ideas?

No man or woman can keep the law. You have missed the point of the Gospel. The law is there to show us how miserably we fail to follow it. No one can live up to Gods standards. No one is good enough to enter heaven on their own merit. Jesus is the door, and the only way to everlasting life.

Turn from your hatred friend. It will consume you.

Also- I would die for you saturnFX. I would literally die for you to know God. Your hatred keeps you apart from Him. His love will draw you in but you keep rejecting His love. Open your heart, and open your eyes.

(and an extra 50 points to those whom understand the actual point of this thread)

At the current rate of inflation and common sense this should be at least a Bajillion points.

Then people would think before they reply.

I find it strange that so many Christians want to defend themselves and the word of God during a time that the word clearly states that ridicule will happen during these times and nothing will defend against it.

This type of thread should strengthen Christians, not invoke defence or attack!

I am speaking about the content of the whole thread of course.

Taking one single paragraph from the Bible and stating it as fact is like taking the defiintion of a word or letter from a dictionary and painting the meaning of everything regarding a single word of that kind with the same meaning. How the heck can you justify a single word of language as the ultimate meaning of that word or indeed a passage of text as a definite meaning?? You can only read all the different passages, just as we all read the different letters of the alphabet to make words and hope that it gives us understanding of passages when we read them.

If you are a believer this is a topic that will go on all night, if you are a non believer it will do the same. Either bridge it with a question towards either side or shut up because its pointless otherwise.

Unless this is just an argument, in which case it belongs in a wastebasket of non-achievement for its lack of achievement or vision.

You might as well be asking

"Have you ever broken any of the laws of the old covenent?
Have you ever broken any of the 10 commandments?
Have you ever broken the golden rule that governs all?
Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
Have you ever acted un-loving to another human being?
Have you ever thought something un-loving to another human being?"

We're all going to hell, if not by the first then certainly by the last. This is why we need forgiveness through the sacrifice of Jesus. Believe in Him and He will set you on the path of love, of servitude for your fellow man and through that, servitude of God. God's only commandment was to believe in His son Jesus who tells us just to love one another.

Perfection is to be perfect in Love.

1) No, I am a man.
2) I've had long hair
3) Never been married
4) No, this scripture was to point out the severity of any sin. He's not telling us to mutilate ourselves.
5) No, this was to keep the people of God united and to not fall apart. Note, being born or killed under old judaic law did not mean you were going to hell.
6) No

Will I go to hell? I most certainly would if it wern't for the loving forgiveness of Christ.

I'm sorry but a lot of this information was put foward leaving out almost all context. If I didn't know any better I'd say someone who doesn't believe in the bible is trying to pull the strings of christians. Not because of the nature of the information but by the crucial truths left out that would mislead anyone reading it for the first time.

...I loves me my scripture.and >>we ALL know, the bible is the word of god, it is infallable and unable to be corrupted. It is penned by God (well, men posessed by God basically) and therefore everything is literal and without question...

Then in another thread you have this to say regarding the scriptures>>>>
I don't take the bible itself literally, from cover to cover...to me, its a bunch of cavemen trying to explain superstition and experiences well beyond their comprehension in intellectually dumbed down ways.

So which is it?

Sarcasm. I am pretty anti-religious as I find religion is disgusting and a corruption to personal spirituality. I also accept religion nonsense is saturated into the daily lives of many and use it as a weapon to destroy progress and each others.

If I can't eliminate religion with common sense, then at least I can try to progress it past its caveman mindset.

Modern day acceptable christianity is pretty close to being harmless...still alot of nutty fundys out there using old testiment cherry picking to fuel hate in the mainstream and politics, so, work still needs to be done...hopefully there are plenty doing this for islam also as they are pretty far behind in the reasonable mindset mentality.

But ya, I am about as religious as a fire is chilly.

I still think your considering if Frodo was indeed wearing the cape over one or both sholders while visiting the elves in lord of the rings, but meh, different belief systems. (aka, I think the bible is fiction, and breaking it down and any massive thought behind it is old trekky style nerddom study about fiction)

Thanks for the info though. Ultimately the bible will keep translating and meaning to whatever you want it to say.

I hate unicorns also...stupif effing horny horses...if they existed, I would so punch one for being all...unicorny!

actually, I have no issue with what I would consider to be "god", its the religion that is the issue

by skimming your hundreds of anti-Christian posts.

Damn, did it come off as anti-christian...naa, I am anti-theist..like saying I hate the world and you calling me racist because it targetted a color...no, its equal..pretty much all races included, white, black, red, green, purple, all..understand
so, not anti-christian...frankly, christianity is in my opinion the top of the wastebasket called monothiesm..buddism is higher up in my book due to their less focus on deitys than personal connection mind you...but christianity is above, say, islam..or judism...so, there is always that.

I would say that in order to understand the author's intent, one would have to read the whole book,

Again? come on man, I read the kjv in university like one would a novel...have since then used it alot to reference it, the words don't change..sure, peoples interpretations of it change week to week, but the words themselves are pretty set in there.
I don't think I will reread it over and over and over again until I "get it"..thats simply called brainwashing

but a common sense statement like that would be an insult to your obvious high intelligence.

Obviously.

Oh, I know plenty about christianity, the biblical interpretations, the cherry picking and morphing. I went to a catholic school, read the book like a novel as I already stated, spent years on IRCs #apologetics channel debating the finer points, etc etc etc.

Granted, I am now simply using silly arguments to get the point across, however, it simplier to digest than write a book that basically leads to the same thing...people won't read an entire book when they could simply read a small bit of info that brings the same understanding up

Thanks for the total judgement on my intent, my person, and my views.
Enjoy your hypocracy.

Hey mamabeth, haven't been in a thread with you in awhile you nutty fundy

Hows life? good? good..ok, debate on now that we caught up. heh

Erm..the original sin...ya, see, heres the thing
I was born with sin.
I didn't ask to be born, I was sort of shoved into existance...

So...day 1..gun to by head by a deity demanding I beg forgivness for what someone did before I got here.
This god guy...sort of a di-k really, here I am just being a newborn and he is all like "repent now or go get tortured for eternity..
oi...I didn't ask for this...

then he is all like...well, tell you what...say your sorry and I will give you candy...and I was about to say I was sorry, but then I couldn't...because I didn't do jack and suddenly principles kicked in.

Then he was all like...well, if you don't again...torture for eternity..

this isn't some choice, who is this dude...eff him and his crazy talk...mom, get me outta this wacky hospital, this guy has lost the plot.

So then we leave, I give this wackjob the finger..later I find out he was serious...seems he got angry at people tons of times and committed mass murder over and over again...then people are all freaked out and its like...dude,,just say your sorry and we can live with him for eternity...

so again, tempted...until it hit me...

why the eff would I want to be trapped in a room with that jackass for eternity?!! man, the faster I can lose that guy, the better...he is bipolar and totally mad.

ok...thats a bit scattered, but its pretty damn close to why -not- to beg forgiveness, but instead, just live in a way where you don't feel you need to ask.
I was not born into sin...and anyone whom says I was...is someone I do not want to spent 5 minutes with, much less eternity...and I certainly am not going to listen to that same person about what happens if I don't beg forgiveness to him

You may be praying to the wrong guy.

I have been a Christian from the age of 5yrs and as I was born into a Gypsy bloodline, I have always been able to astral project and I was plagued by 3 Generational demons until early 20s.

When I was 12 I wanted to commit suicide, so I astral projected up to Heaven's gates, where an angel told me, it wasn't my time yet and it was dangerous where I was and to go back down.

Next time I go up was after my Mum had died and I was missing her. I saw Jesus by a river. It was beautiful (and I still wasn't free of the demons at this time). They think telepathically up there and it is peaceful but busy. I had a chat with my Mum and my grief diminished.
In the same hour I was asked by Jesus did I want to see somewhere else? I went to a place of absolute darkness and silence except the circle of light around Him. Then I saw people walking in the Darkness and I reached out and touched one and he turned into a flower.
Then we went to another place, the future New Jerusalem and the Bride of Christ; Gemstone city.
My feet were bare up there and I could feel that the Gold pavement was warm and living. Jesus was there and laughing at my reaction. I could see it was a balcony with a tree and a stream running parallel to the balcony wall. It was made of clear gold.
It was in the shape of a pyramid with constant rainbows at the four corners.

The fourth time I went, was after our 13th miscarriage and I was literally made of grief. I was invited up through the gate by a very well muscled angel and I got to hold my daughter and meet all our other children who didn't get to be born. Each had an angel all the time. Again they talked telepathically, all at the same time.
Then the angel flew me to another corner of Heaven to meet with Jesus and I cried in his arms. I don't remember what He told me.

What I am trying to say is I have physically seen angels, Jesus, demons and UFOs. I have had many miracles with many witnesses.
I believe Heaven exists and that Hell does too. Demons have attacked me and wounded me physically, Jesus comforted me. I know who I would rather be with for Eternity as a light being. (4D then 5D being)

***********************************************************************
From my research. those who have a relationship with Jesus and believe what happened to Him actually did happen, and try to keep His 2 main commandments, will be the Bride of Christ.

Those who believe in an Uncreated Creator God but do not have a relationship with Jesus will be going to Heaven but not as His Bride; they will be the invited Guests. (First rescue)

I think that many people around the World will be going to Heaven, yet Fundamental Christians will be surprised as they have been taught wrong.
If you read John 3v16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."
The Him in bold above, who is this talking about????

I believe it is talking about God............And Jesus!!!! As Jesus says He was; I AM.
Jesus said to pray to the Father Not Jesus!! Love Jesus but Worship God. To Love Jesus is to keep His commandments=To Love the Lord your God with all you Heart Soul and Mind. And to love your neighbour as you love yourself.
By keeping these you keep all the 10 Commandments.
Do you do these????? Yes???Can't see why you won't be going to Heaven then.

So this could mean Hopi Indians will be in Heaven, non-Messianic Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Tibetans, Subterreans who follow the Way, space colonists, people who don't go to Church at all but pray to God in their hearts, might well go to Heaven.

In fact if you have ever prayed that someone dies because they don't believe the Doctrine that you do, bad news-you will have to repent before you can be in the Bride of Christ rescue. You may well be going to Hell as your name can be blotted out of the Book of Life.

In Revelation Philadelphia meaning Brotherly love is the only part of the Church that does not stay during the day of wrath. Revelation 6v17
(Church meaning those who believe in Jesus=Protestants, Catholics, 7th day Adventists etc)

Do you get this??? Love is the ONLY WAY OUT of the last 7yrs of the Great tribulation.

By the way Smyrna has to go through the whole ten days=ten years =2008-2018.

Sorry it was so long I like being thorough, Peace and Love.

I am not going to go through your entire post (did read it, just won't comment on alot of it due to the obvious outside viewpoint of someone saying they touch people and turn into flowers...bit crazy and/or delusional).

But will suprise the crowd and say I agree with some aspects of what you say...a christian should not be praying to jesus as that is all but idol worship.

the wording in the bible is pretty clear in some points...he did cool stuff, people were all wild with curiousity as to how he did that, he said there is no real difference between him and any other joe, but that he simply knows he can (faith...whatever)...aka, he isn't special..well, rather, everyone is equally special if they simply accept it and accept the godthing as a sort of direct channel to them.

So, that is ultimately the message is...hey, we can do great crap, just accept and have a bit of faith...

and christians then killed him off, seperated the message from him, removed him from humanity and instead of allowing him to be our equal and brother, they made him a bridge and a king verses companion.

I have no issues with christ as written...(not that I believe, just saying on principle)...religion destroyed christ though and created a business to sell off the honor of touching his foot through mental enslavement.

God know's us all inside and out. There wont be a single issue unturned, while I don't know what will happen to the Chinese or North Korean kid who have never heard of Christ, if this remains fact and their heart was set on love, I believe mercy would be shown.

All will be judged accordingly, there won't be a single event or thought or action excluded in God's judgement. There were many in the OT who had not heard of the coming savior who died but God knows their hearts inside and out

It still amazes me how both sides of these issues cannot see past their own agendas. Give it up people and realize from our past that on every question of religion and science we never have the perfectly right answer. And like so many zealots in the past, you too shall look like a fool when more is unveiled.

I liked this forum when we were using our differences to learn from each other. Now it is mostly attacks of mainly opinions from the brainwashing of religious repression as well as scientific pandering from corporate profit.

Best to remain silent. Time tends to prove us all wrong.

I think I am done here at ATS. I will move along quietly and disappointed.
