Syria says it has arrested members of a terrorist group that planned acts of sabotage to destabilize the country following weeks of unrest.

www.presstv.ir...

You can make up your own mind on this one, as the Western media has demonized Syria enough for their words not to be taken seriously.

This could be true, or untrue equally, depends on who you believe, how much you trust the Syrian government, and how much you believe them to be telling the truth based on the circumstances.

Although this trust, belief etc towards a nation's regime is programmed in our heads through the media, there should still be real attempts to see this from both perspective.

Perspective One

Believing the Syrian government would mean believing that foreign governments were funding operations within Syria to incite anger to an extent where it would spread life fire. We know Syria has enemies, knowingly Israel and US and we do know US has used such tactics before in Venezuela where anti-Chavez protesters were shot and then blamed on Chavez's regime.

The confession (?) also states that "he was ordered to use live ammunition and open fire on "protesters in order to sow disarray and lead people to believe that the security forces were shooting on the demonstrators."

As we remember protesters were shot by security forces (?) last week in Syria, according to this confession (?), "other "cells" carrying out similar acts in the country."

Perspective Two

Syrian protests are increasing and the Syrian forces did fire live rounds on peaceful protesters, killing many. Now that the anger has spread due to the massacre of peaceful protesters, the Syrian regime has orchestrated a scenario where the anger might be shifted towards external forces (specially the enemies of Syria), rather than the Syrian government.

We don't know who was behind these attacks, it might be from perspective one, or it might be security forces themselves, the Western media is the last piece to believe, specially reports against what they deem as their enemies.

We saw the Mercenary claims in Libya, which was absolutely false (based on HRW report), and the lack of reporting on Saudi Mercenaries in Bahrain which evidently is true.

So we can't trust Western news agency based on conditions, and conditions are met for us to not trust those reports.

Which side are you on?

Good post, S&F for you.

Also, potentially very dangerous for US and Israel if true. Leaders of other Arab nations could use this concept to do a little mayhem in their own country, then blame "outsiders", thus rousing the anger of their populations. And while there is plenty of infighting in these countries individually (and even amongst themselves), nothing brings them together better than being mad at the US and Israel (sometimes with cause IMO).

With everything going on in the world right now, I just have two words for everyone: "Buckle up!"

The situation in Syria reeks of CIA influence.
We won't attack them directly. They aren't Libya.
Iran has Syria's back.
BUT (I just thought of this now) if they really want to start WW3, then watch for an attack on Syria. If that happens Iran will bomb the %*^# outta Israel. Then china Russia and NK will get involved when the US mercs Iran.

They posted an article in the US to.
www.msnbc.msn.com...

WASHINGTON — A document purportedly drafted by senior Syrian intelligence officials details a chilling plan to infiltrate the ranks of anti-regime protesters, arrest and assassinate their leaders, and link anti-regime demonstrations to the work of “Zionist” and other outside agitators.

The document was circulated by Syrian opposition figures Wednesday and cited by dissidents as fresh evidence of the brutality of the regime of President Bashar Assad. “It is very scary — this is the work of a Mafia state,” said Radwan Ziadeh, a prominent Syrian human rights activist and visiting scholar at George Washington University, who said he obtained the document from sources inside Syria on Tuesday night.

The NYtimes had an article saying the CIA was in Libya weeks before we attacked. The CIA even armed the rebels, according to the article. I'd link but it was in the newspaper, not online. I made sure to save that edition though.

No one knows where this draft came from and its authenticity. The propaganda wars continue, finally small parts of the world is catching up to US considering propaganda. It needs very creative skills, US has been number 1 since WWII, before that NAZI Germany was number 1.

Once again, two perspective. Very dangerous.

And the authorities paraded three suspects on state television, who admitted being members of an "armed terrorist gang, saying they received money and weapons from abroad to fuel unrest in Syria."

In particular, the suspects said they had received arms and weapons from neighboring Lebanon. A Lebanese MP named by one suspect denied any involvement.

"We received orders to incite people into protesting, especially in front of the Umayyad Mosque (in Damascus)," the man identified as Anas Kanj, said on television. "Then we received orders to arm ourselves in order to carry out operations to support our brothers in Deraa and all of Syria's provinces like Latakia and Banias, and this was through Ahmad Oudeh who was the messenger between myself and MP Jamal Al-Jarrah in Lebanon," Kanj said.

Al-Jarrah, who denied the allegations on Lebanese television, belongs to the anti-Syrian Lebanese Future movement headed by caretaker Prime Minister Saad Hariri.

Prime Minister Saad Hariri was at the White House meeting with Obama in January.

ATS should have a new rule: No more OPs from PRESS-TV.

Gimme a star if you think PRESS-TV is THE most unreliable source of information in the Middle East.

PressTV is as reliable as any Western news agency, in some reports more reliable than Western new agencies. Let's not troll this thread to PressTV vs Western news agencies.

Just to make you happy:

Governments blaming there problems on outsiders has been around since before Hitler used it when he came to power,

As for it being Lebanon its been Syria that has been meddling in Lebanon for 40 years and its time for a little payback

More evidence suggesting of foreign plots, I guess the probability of Syria telling the truth just increased:

"Lebanese security forces have reportedly intercepted two vehicles carrying weapons and ammunitions to Syria amid Damascus' complaints of foreign provocations."

I can't believe this thread has been here since 2011.

Right now Syrian minister Mohammad Shaar is in the hospital after being wounded in an attack. Double check this because I'm not sure pf all the details...and it says 4 of his security members are dead... but ANYWAY...

LEBANESE Jamal Jarrah....?? Future mp of Lebanon... Who is this guy? He looks like your typical mobster but am I reading this correctly or am I tripping out?

This guy Jamal Jarrah... he is saying that this recently wounded Syrian interior minister needs to be tried for war crimes.

NOW SOMEBODY PLEASE DEBUNK THIS... or tell me what the hell is going on.

...but this Jarrah guy is the uncle of the Lebanese pilot of one of the 9/11 planes that crashed??

WTF??

Is this common knowledge people or what!!

Look at this wikipedia article. It says right here that's his damn uncle. Not ONLY does he look like a thug but he doesn't look Lebanese.

en.wikipedia.org...

I knew a lot of stuff has gone on in Lebanon in the past just in my lifetime but look... it's a terror puppet of the cabal and they use their flesh and blood.

Holy crap, I did not know this. Is this common knowledge because if it isn't, PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THIS!

Somebody comment on this!

I can't believe no one is commenting on this. This totally blows my mind and he's totally sharking in on Assad right in the public eye.

Tell me the evidence can't be that obvious.

check out this guy! read this article. this guy was assassinated in 05. his son is now an important member of the Future movement, which is backed by this Jamal Jarrah. He's important as a Lebanese billionaire in politics.

en.wikipedia.org...

They think Syria did this....killed this man' father.

Read Jarrah's quotes... I think he shifts blame a lot. He was accused of some funding for weapons through lebanon to the FSA. There was money that was shifted within lebanon and it was admitted by another lenanese official and his explanation is that the money was shifted because of a Syrian council membership involved in all this conflict crap.

does that even make sense... I don't see how. i think it's much more likely they allocated it AGAINST Syria. I'm confused but I think this guy is a pathological liar and that he may have had something to do with this Lebanese man's assassination to get support from his now billionaire son.

the guy who was assasinated is said to have tried to rebuild lebanon and it talks about in the article how he was against these presences promoting terror and names Israel-US interests as the culprit.

He was reminded of Bush's statement "you are either with us or against us"???? Wuuuuh?

Unfortunately lebanon was in debt somehow even further... being encouraged to do this by some deal with Eurobonds... to rebuild destroyed lebanon from last time they tore it apart. they were applauded for this financial collaboration despite the country being in debt???

They whacked this guy!... Am I imagining this?

His billionaire son thinks the Syrian regime did it?

I'm like....

Naaaaaaaahhhhh!

No way.

The Future Movement.... read the connected members and could SOMEBODY find a more thorough bio on Jamal Jarrah?
