Yellowstone has produced 30 smaller eruptions since the last big one 640000 years ago. Now the scientists have just figured out how big this thing really is. It's a rather uncanny timing, maybe they were suspecting something?

All those restless earth energy has to go somewhere, it's not necessarily going to be a big one in yellowstone, it could be just a small one, I just can't imagine if another big quake strikes japan.

Un not for nuthin, but Kaku is probably the most qualified person in any room to make such a call considering his education. In which case it isn't fear mongering...its just plain ole truth and knowledge. No one said the truth is pretty. Just cause you don't like it, don't mean that Im not sittin in a lawn chair woody harelson style munching pop corn waiting for the end to come with a s@*t eatin grin on my face.

How exactly is he a fearmonger? Everything he said is true, backed up by hard evidence.

Oh, you are still back at seismic tomography? Haven't you heard? The new electrical conductivity study says it is even bigger than the bigger they though it was after the surveying.

Maybe he researched some of the thousands of pages of scientific data available to anyone that cares to look for it?

Here's a few bit of info for you. Hope clicking on links and reading a few short paragraphs isn't to strenuous for you.

Lava Creek Tuff the last caldera forming VEI-8 eruption 640,000 years ago.

Mesa Falls Tuff VEI-7 eruption 1.3 million years ago.

Huckleberry Ridge Tuff VEI-8 eruption 2.1 million years ago.

But hey... I know how hard it is to type words into google and do a search. Best to just ignore the facts and pretend they don't exist.
