I have been watching the Kennedy's mini-series. Its enjoyable and in a lot of cases, the acting is excellent and would recommend it if you like stories about politics and powerful historical families.

One glaring error and what must be a purposeful exclusing from the program is a complete absense of Ted Kennedy from the program. There is absolutely no mention of Ted Kennedy.

Joe Kennedy Jr. who died in WWII, who is relatively unknown is a major figure in the first two episodes.
Bobby Kennedy is a major player in the show
Joe senior is a major figure
Rose is a major figure
Caroline and John jr are in the show
Ethel Kennedy is in the show

Ted Kennedy is not in the show at all. He is not at the house. He is not playing the traditional football games on the lawn. He's not at dinner. They don't mention him to explain his absense. He is not there on election night when absolutely everyone is there watching the election returns. Ted Kennedy was elected to the Senate in 1962 taking the seat that JFK gave up to run for President, hence he was an extremely successful politican exactly at the time this family "history" was being depicted. Joe Kennedy was obsessed with getting his sons in the upper levels of American politics. He originally wanted Joe to be President and after he died, pushed JFK into politics. Bobby Kennedy wanted nothing to do with politics after JFK was elected, yet Joe pushed him into the Attorney General job. All of that, yet in the middle of the entire early show, when JFK is running for President, Bobby running his campaign, Ted runs for Senate and wins and there is absolutely no mention of him at all.

If you watched the show you would absolutely assume that the Kennedys had three sons, not four, especially one who was a successful politican at such a young age.

Curious. Perhaps they don't want to get into the Chappaquiddick business, but that does not seem likely, since in many cases the show is unflattering towards the Kennedys.

Why did they completely erase Ted Kennedy from this show, since it was intended to be an accurate historical drama?

Maybe they are erasing him from history. Maybe they didn't want to discuss all his flaws and taint the family with his legacy.

Strange. They show Joe Sr. and JFK whoring around, with JFK using the secret service bring women into the White House. They show JFK popping tons of pills. They show Joe Jr. as an overly ambitious a-hole. They show Joe Sr. cheating in elections. They show the complete level of entitlement these folks have. They show Jackie threatening to divorce JFK. It is unflattering, by in large.

They could have simply not focused on Ted, having him there, but in and out, no big role, but to have him completely absent is without question purposeful. Why? What ever you think of Ted Kennedy, he was certainly an interesting figure including him could only have made the show more interesting and accurate.
