If Trump runs as an Independent, he will take the entire Tea Party vote with him, and will split the Republican vote in two.

Obama will get a landslide that will make Reagan's win in 1984 look like they weren't really trying.

This is what I have been saying for a while. The Tea Party is going to split the GOP vote and Obama will win.

I didn't know he ran before! I was surprised to see that he was pro-choice and pro-gay rights and wanted to do a one-time tax on the rich to get out of debt. I think I might vote for that guy!

Are his current positions stated anywhere? Aside from his position on Obama, that is.

Apparently lots of people did not know that, including so many of the TEA party folks that cannot seem to get behind him enough right now. Then again, he never did make it official. Too bad too because he had posters.

It is almost like he really put a lot of effort into saying he was going to run to only not really run as if it were some kind of publicity stunt. Wait, hmmmm....would Trump do something like that just to get his name out there more? With such big "steaks?"
[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/fa3a9c2886c3.jpg[/atsimg]

I love your link. While I do not have a comprehensive list of his stances right now, I am fairly certain that his courting of the TEA party is more than enough to look at your link and see a vast chasm here. I see Trump supporters running through abortion threads talking about stopping the murder of babies...etc. Just how is the Christian Right/TEA party going to deal with this? I guess every tiger can change it's stripes. Gulliani courted the Christian right too.

Ah well, the times they are a changing.

From your link the Trump in 2000 said...

Pro-choice, but ban partial birth abortion. (Jul 2000)
One-time 14.25% tax on wealth, to erase national debt. (Nov 1999)
Tolerate diversity; prosecute hate crimes against gays. (Jul 2000)
For assault weapon ban, waiting period, & background check. (Jul 2000)
We must have universal health care. (Jul 2000)

I know, I know. They will say but he was also for stuff like

Let people invest their own retirement funds. (Jul 2000)
No government investment of retirement funds. (Jul 2000)

To which we can now remind them that this last big fight about fiscal responsibility was held up by them over abortion so....yeah. Good luck Donny!

Wow, I forgot about his 1999 pres campaign. Back then, I don't think people/media put him, or his party, in any serious light, as they are now. He must be so enjoying the current spotlight.

Of course, his changing viewpoints he could say was do to "youthful indiscretion" or could say he was "reborn", to use the old codeword.

Maybe Newt and The Donald could run together on an American 3rd Wife Party. Speaking of wives, I don't remember The Donald's wife looking so....so.....like a draq queen. Wait a minute! That's Rudy from the Wig Party!

You nailed it! I hear he was asking Glenn Beck how to go from repugnant ass to beloved and Beck suggested that finding Jeses made everyone forget him mocking a woman for misacarrying and Trump thought, this guy just got fired he must be pretty on the ball and viola!

Trump: I am a Christian

“I believe in God. I am Christian. I think The Bible is certainly, it is THE book,' Trump told CBN's David Brody.
I always felt "The Great and Secret Show" was THE book so I guess I cannot vote for him now.

Odd, CBN did not show the clip of Trump's daughter laughing at the incest jokes from the CC roast. Shame. I bet that stuff plays well.

Jesse thinks he don't have the balls to run as he has talked this running thing before. Jesse said he may run if Paul or Trump wanted to run on the Libertarian ticket but Jesse will not run on the Dem or Republican ticket.

Hmmm.

So based on the information you've provided, it would seem that Trump is a two-faced liar who willingly changes his political standpoints in order to drum up voters upset with the current administration?

Maybe he would make a decent POTUS after all.

“This is too important. Our country is in trouble. Our country is not being properly led. It needs help.”

I actually agree with what Trump says here. This country is in trouble and needs to be lead. What I would like Trump to explain is why he thinks he the man for the job. All I have heard from him is bitching about Obama's birth certificate and that he might run for President. Other than that, he has not said anything of importance nor has he offered any solutions for the things he calls problems. We all get this from ATS everyday and if that is all it takes to get 50% of the vote, why dont we just make the next member to sign up on ATS and post his introduction thread the President?

But an ongoing Newsmax poll shows Trump overwhelming all other potential GOP candidates in the primary. Trump received 57 percent of the vote, with Romney in second at 9 percent, Huckabee at 8 percent, Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich at 6 percent, and the others at 4 percent or less.

The poll also found that if the election were held today, 68 percent of respondents would vote for Trump, 13 percent would choose Obama, and 17 percent would opt for another candidate

Thanks for making my life easy anon72.

I raised doubts over validity of this HIGHLY SKEWED POLL DATA in another thread which quoted same poll. Thanks for giving me a twofer.

Demographics for Newsmax

Overwhelming majority of site visitors: OLD WHITE MEN. Not exactly representative of US population.

Regardless, it will be fun watching Trump run. He's a real good TV personality and has his finger on the pulse of the common man. His chauffeur, his gardener and his tailor et al.

perhaps, however, they are more likely to vote and be politically involved. And right now, they are steering clear of Obama.

Interesting perspective but I'd wager most old folks (like me) might have a vested interest in preventing their Social Security and Medicare slashed after working and contributing to both programs their entire life. I suspect flag and banner waving might take a back seat if golf cart lifestyle is jeopardized. Not sure where "The Don" stands on that unless he's gonna offer FREE BINGO night at one of his (cough) casinos for everyone wearing Depends. B-23.....BINGO!......Oh gee, I just made piddle.

Speaking of which I'll assume he will temporarily relinquish all financial holdings to avoid conflict of interest or improprieties since he would technically be in charge of their regulations etc. I seem to recall some sort of independent trust fund is established for financial assets for sitting Presidents or something to that effect managed by a third party or Just turn it all over The Rug Jr.

I flashed on something with that. Actually, the direction this country has gone over the decades, it's been "B-1", "Bingo!", B-2", "Bingo!", "Next generation bomber", "Bingo!"

If Trump got in The Big Boys Club, he'ld make sure corporations got to play Bingo. "N-nuclear energy", "Bingo!", "I-investments on Wall Street", "Bingo!", "O-overseas jobs", "Bingo!", "O-oil", "Bingo!"

They say that, sure, but secretly, women are just DYING to take off their shoes and wiggle their toes in that rug! We also love men who brag on themselves and speak of themselves in the third person... God! I just LOVE that!

No kidding.

Well, you won't win an election without some old white men on your side either.

Time will tell. Some more polls are due out today. Maybe you'll find them more suitable.

One thing for sure, as I have been saying in my political threads. Gonna be one interesting election. Like nothing this country has ever seen previously.

Trump could spoil the "party" for the Republicans if he runs as an Independent.
As per Teddy Roosevelt and Ross Perot in the past.

That's not fair BH as I'm follically challenged. (Current spousal unit states it a convenient place to stick her gum. God my future Ex adores me.
) Anywho if that is all it takes to get a look at some serious toe cleavage I'll be donning (oh look a pun) a big fluffy Don King rug faster than a Beanie Baby goes missing at Day Care.

But aside from my rugged good looks, wry wit and devilish charm, Kinda Kurious is a fairly normal Multi-Millionaire.
