Saw this already, but I still believe this is as much proof as we will get. The fact that this is an official FBI document stating their were "saucers" and small bodies found, it's almost hard to believe. I believe in extraterrestrials already visiting/visited Earth, and I also believe the government covers up much information about many subjects, not just aliens. Yet, even with this proof I still remain a tiny bit skeptical, just due to the fact that this would literally mean aliens are real and we literally found alien bodies. Maybe this is how they want it to come out though, nice and slowly. Since we all know this is probably how disclosure will start, Obama isn't going to broadcast nationwide and tell the world Aliens are real.

Most people don't like subjects like this because it's hard to rap your mind around it, in a sense. It's like when you are researching and putting pieces together you make up your mind on what may actually be the truth, but even when you pretty much have the truth in front of your face it still shocks you, even if your a believer.

Proof that there was genuine interest from Hoover on the matter, which is significant, but not proof of an alien crash recovery.

Hadn't seen this doc before. Interesting. A google on this Guy Hottel turned this up - apparently another earlier memo by him regarding Roswell in '47. The article contends that the '50 memo referred to another crash altogether.

Not sure what to make of these...sure would like to see the docs/ memos the FBI Director made in response to these, though. I would imagine those won't pop up on the net anytime soon.

Bruce Maccabee says it's a fraud:

This document has been available since I got it from the FBI in 1977.
It was contained in a package of government documents made available

I wrote about it in my book, The UFO-FBI Connection published in 2000.

Apparently this was a result of a story told by Silas Newton during a lecture
at the University of DEnver on March 8, 1950. Newton was making this up
in order to con some oil investors (claiming he had secret technology
developed from an "alien" source or something like that). Apparently
some listener told someone else and so on until the FBI
heard about it from "an air force investigator" ](name unknown).
The story told by Newton was picked up by Scully and published
some time later.

The only reason that I can fathom for all the interest now is that
most people are not aware of the history of the subject combined
with the FBI decision to highliglht some of their documents.

Hey Jim -

So this Guy Hottel was just the SA that wrote the story rec'd from the unknown AF grunt....I get it.

Do you know if the other doc I linked to re: '47 by this same SA really came from the FBI archives?

thanks for the 411

ETA: Cuz it sure seems to bolster the Project Mogul theory

ETA: found this link in another thread, but confirms Jim's info:
www.ignaciodarnaude.com...

All this Hottel info can be cross ref'd with the Aztec Hoax. No more to see here.

What's the fraud, the memo itself or the story recounted within? The history of the subject is Truman simply did not like and would not trade information with Hoover, which means Hoover certainly did not have the best UFO information at the time and would like to have had it.

Truman had it.
