Recently, Epsilon was hacked and over 50 companies e-mails and clients names were stolen..

Hackers have gained the names and email addresses of millions of people who do business with a variety of companies, by way of third-party email marketing provider Epsilon. Epsilon claims to be the world’s largest permission-based email marketing provider, sending over 40 billion emails annually. It works with more than 2,500 clients, including 7 of the Fortune 10. Among company’s affected were US Bank, Capital One, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Best Buy, Kroger, TiVo, Walgreen’s, and Robert Half. Epsilon said in a statement:

so far, i have gotten e-mails from..

best buy
target
ups
fed-ex
chase bank
J P morgan
All of them have zipped attachments on them..

I don't open them of course, I'm pretty sure they are some form of virus..

If you have received any of these..please let us know here so we can all be on the look out..thanks..BM

According to the information I received the hackers only stole Email address and possibly phone numbers no account details. I received two warning letters at one of my web mail accounts no attachments. Other than a possible increase in spam I don't see much concern, Email addresses get passed around all the time. Do you think this was a targeted attack? What were the attackers after?

I received 3 emails from HSN,Target and Walgreens. HSN was the first to respond to the Epsilon breach. I received the other 2 emails earlier this past week. There were No attachments. All emails were official. Nevertheless,I deleted the email acct. associated to this! Hope this info helps.

no, it was really from capital one.

"As we have communicated over the course of the last week, Epsilon—a marketing vendor that sends e-mails on our behalf—notified us about unauthorized outside access to files that included Capital One® customer e-mail addresses."

it was strange, from reading this email to reading your thread was like 5 min

I got one the other day from Krogers. It said that they had a security breach and the only thing that was stolen was Names and email addresses. Just lovely!!! I hope that was all that was taken.
