I honestly feel sorry for people like you who apparently have never taken the time to appreciate how awesome THIS PLANET WE ARE ON is. "joyriding in space' requires a ot of finite resources that might be put to better use here in reality, er, on earth.

Also, meditation and or psychedelics will take you further into space than any 'rocket' ever will.

ok correct me if I am wrong but TPTB want to keep the population under 5 billion right (georgia guidestones) well instead of killing the majority of people, (what a narrow vision) why not terraform the moon and mars possibly europa. whether or not the moon and mars are inhabited is irrelevant we Mankind have a right to be there it orbits our world and mars and europa are in our neighborhood. there is alot of unused real estate waiting to be colonized what happened to that pioneer spirit? or does that pioneer spirit only exist when and where there are indigenous peoples to exploit!!!!!!!!!!!!

We all have our own opinions buddy! This earth is AMAZING! I agree. But space is even more amazing. And here is some information for you! I meditate and am very into self hypnosis and I can tell you that meditating and hypnosis and psychadelics could never give you the extreme satisfaction that going into space could. You should never compare anything to the "joy of space"

Then you can stay here and enjoy it, no one's making you venture into space. I'll be sure to send you a postcard from my vacation to Mars

We're almost there. Check this out:

Spaceflight Companies List

Right now NASA already has their pick for the private spaceflight shuttle: Dream Chaser - SpaceDev. And I must say, it looks damn fine.

Bigelow Aerospace has several projects they are working on which include space habitats and space-hotels.

This stuff really isn't as complicated or hard as you guys are making it out to be. The commercialization of space is here, just in its infancy, that is all.

We did and we tried, but we were warned not to return. Although we did go and send Apollo 19 and Apollo 20, and returned whatever we could from those derelict ships from the Far Side of the Moon. Just my two cents, and you can disagree with me all you want.

Cheers

I second that. I was getting excited over the prospect of commercial space exploration, but their comments are really harshing my buzz.

Exactly! I was excited and buzzed up from the thoughts of joy riding in space but not really anymore. Oh well! I put a dip in and get my buzz back!

I don't think the advanced races who observe us will let us get much further than the Moon, I mean who in their right minds would want a bunch of murderous, treacherous, perverted sickos running loose in the Universe?
Lab rats is all we are, and maybe they take some of the better examples to use for genetic engineering purposes.
Mostly I think they think we are trailer-trash.

You do realize that space is INFINITE dont you? Which means that we can go anywhere we want and they can go anywhere they want! I'm sure that once we were in space joy riding and doing our "OWN THING" they would see us as a "non threat" or you could be a weenie and not go into space for fear of other alien races!

I agree aswell but we do have a warrior conquering colonizing pioneering spirit within us. How long before we no longer heed the warnings and boldly venture out into the cosmos make a name for our species among the stars
(think, no look, no step, no leap outside the box)

But, look at my post. We're already spacebound and because of our ambition there's nothing that can stop us. Give it another 10-15 years and the Moon can say bye-bye.

I would go into space and venture out and beyond right now If I could! I'm not scared of an alien race that doesn't want me around. I do know that there is enough "SPACE" for everyone.
