Just adding some more info/news to the forum on the background powerplays
fueling the troubles in the ME.

Haaretz Wikileaks Exclusive

According to latest trove of documents revealed by WikiLeaks, the Bahraini King instructed that official statements stop referring to Israel as the 'Zionist entity' or 'enemy.'
The Bahraini King bragged about intelligence contacts with Israel, and instructed that official statements stop referring to Israel as the "Zionist entity," according to the latest trove of documents revealed by WikiLeaks.

On February 15, 2005, U.S. ambassador to Bahrain William Monroe met with the leader of the small kingdom, Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa - the same king whose position is now threatened by popular protests.

After that meeting, Monroe wrote to Washington that "He [the king] revealed that Bahrain already has contacts with Israel at the intelligence/security level (ie with Mossad) and indicated that Bahrain will be willing to move forward in other areas."

Israel and Bahrain do not have diplomatic relations

Seems to be a 'Do as I say, and not as I do' moment?

More Info on subject

The cable was leaked as the Persian Gulf kingdom struggles with a wave of protests against the ruling Al-Khalifa dynasty.

Israel and Bahrain do not have diplomatic relations, and two years ago, MPs in Manama tried to push through a law outlawing any contact with Israel, which would have seen offenders slapped with a $27,000 fine and up to seven years in jail.

Why the 'Haaretz Exclusive' release by Wiki-Leaks.

Is this so that the timing of release maximize's effect.

More fuel for the Shia-Sunni, Arab-Iran inctement?
All aimed to reduce regional support for Iran?

It looks like the opposite is happening. Iran is gaining more support, not just from Shiites but also from Sunni Arabs who are trying to topple their corrupt fascist regimes.

There are two routs. Route number one, you influence a nation by standing with the people. Route number two, you control a nation through puppet regimes, who are mostly fascist dictators.

The West is taking route number 2 (in places where the people do not have pro-West viewpoint), Iran is taking route number 1. We all remember the recent poll in the Arab world, the population had a very positive view towards Iran.

Simply put, if Democracy comes in the middle east, true Democracy, Iran will be stronger, and the West will become weaker. The massive majority of the Muslim world supports Iran and its stance against Israel and the Imperialist ambitions in the Muslim world.
