I still say that no pay constitutes a breach of contract on behalf of the gov't. I agree that they cannot court martial everyone.

It just pisses the hell out of me, that they had 10 FREAKEN MONTHS to deliberate this crap.

They're taking their sweet time because they know that no matter what happens, they will ALWAYS get paid.

Actually this just dawned on me. For the past couple of years the proverbial PTB in the DHS have been labeling returning soldiers and veterans as potential terrorist threats right? Im sorry, but thats just unacceptable to me. Our leaders should lose ALL their pay in order to make sure you get ALL yours, or you should not be expected to perform ALL your tasks.

Regional offices will have limited availability. No decisions on claims appeals or motions will be issued by the Board of Veterans Appeals. No new education and vocational rehabilitation benefits processing or new compensation and pension benefits processing. Privacy Act requests will not be processed, recruiting and hiring of veteran job applicants will cease, overseas military coordinator operations will be suspended, all outreach and public awareness activities suspended.

Nothing regarding those of us with completed claims that we are paid on. Read it again, no definitive answer of VA checks being suspended.

I will not blame the shutdown on some half baked, cockamamie conspiracy theory such as the one that has been posted here.

Yes I am aware of that, thanks for pointing out the obvious.
Kind of sucks for all the last minute filers, but I already did mine and rec'd my direct deposit so I am not to worried about it.

The issue at hand is the fact that our troops will not be getting paid, meanwhile the fat cats in congress sit around arguing while still getting a paycheck and further flushing our economy down the toilet. I don't see them out there dodging bullets and mortars.

I did read it, hence the reason I called it cockamamie, half baked and crazy.

Conspiracy Theory or no Conspiracy Theory.. I don't think it really matters at this point..

The USA is about 2 inches from "Game Over"... and there are no continues left...

I wish that statement was just fear mongering, but with the US so close to the debt cap and running out of money at a record rate not to mention trying to fight a war on 3 fronts with soldiers that aren't even getting a paycheck anymore.. (Oh I'm sorry half a paycheck).and all but completely suspending government funding for any of it's agencies including those to which the average joe relies on to survive..... how are we supposed to survive much longer?

Personally (and I hope I'm wrong) the shutdown is just to delay the inevitable...
