ATS: FBI Intimidates Free Thinkers

The FBI has questioned several free thinking self proclaimed anarchists around the country for unclear reasons. They have given different "stories" to different suspects as to why they were being questioned. This is stemming from reports of potential terrorists activity at the DNC involving the vandalism of news vans.



Wild goose chase or real threat? The actions by the FBI suggest to me that they are not investigating anything specific but engaging in a campaign of intimidation against free thinkers. If this trend continues and pours over into other areas of free thinking groups it could be a recipe for disaster.

I think this is another attempt to keep the population paranoid. Either that or the FBI are totaly inept.

We see again the beginning of the broader meaning of TERRORIST.

Free thinker = potential threat to the order = Potential trouble maker = potential terrorist.

Yes but there's no link between these people and those groups. That's the point here. They are trying to deter people for having views that don't fit the accepted model of society by associating them with these groups. It's unfounded and a attack on free thought.

The ALF(Animal Liberation Front) have carried out Terrorist attacks again McDonalds and other fastfood restaurants in the Netherlands and Belgium over the last 10 years.

Luckely noone got hurt, but the establishments they attacked sustained heavy damages(they torched them)

During on period a few years ago, they attacked a douzen restaurants in a few weeks time.

If I remember corrently, 2 people were arrested, and the ALF has since then been under investigation and has kept itself relativly quiet around here, seeing the history line in the article below, they moved their activity's to the US.

August 12, 1999, Antwerp, Belgium: ALF claims credit for burning down a McDonalds, causing damage estimated at $809,000.

Aug. 31, 1999, Fulton County, Ga.: ALF torches a McDonalds restaurant.

Oct. 16, 1999, Nassau, Long Island, N.Y.: ALF smashes windows and spray-paints graffiti at four McDonalds, causing more than $23,000 in damage.

Dec. 7, 2000, Long Island, N.Y.: ELF and ALF smash windows and spray-paint anti-meat slogans at McDonalds offices.

June 2001, Detroit: ELF vandalizes a McDonalds.

Sept. 8, 2001, Tucson, Ariz.: ALF and the affiliated Earth Liberation Front claim joint credit for a $500,000 arson of a McDonalds restaurant they say is meant as a warning to corporations worldwide.

March 3, 2003, Chico, Calif.: ALF activists spray-paint Meat is Murder and Species Equality, along with the groups name, on a McDonalds. Two crude incendiary devices fail to ignite.

March 10, 2003, Chico, Calif.: A second McDonalds is damaged by burning debris. Liberation and ALF are spray-painted on the walls.

This is imho not a group of activists, but a gang of lunatics that seek to cause chaos and destruction, for whatever cause.

As a bity of a tangent, I hate it when people define themselves as 'free thinkers'. It just drips with "I'm a prick who can't get a job."

What's a "free thinker"?

Some of the people in the groups mentioned above are too extreme and ignorant which hurts the cause they are supposed to be helping. The FBI should be watching some of them because we all know that a few people that are together on an extreme cause can and do cause terrorist acts. Those groups are alright, but again some of the people involved push it too far.

The worst trouble with people who try to repress free thought and diversity of opinion,is that it shakles people's dreams and imaginations. Intimidation scares people into inaction and fear of speaking new ideas. The most important thing to fuel an economy is the freedom to dream and imagine a better future. That is why police states tend to have VERY POOR economies. Order without chaos is death. Life requires both.
