This has happened many times before, especially when Clinton was president. Nobody cared then and they don't care now....it will pass.....the most affected will be Social Security benefits and visiting your local park or museum.

If they are shutting down government, can I come over and start one up while they are gone, I think this is what America should do, just kick them out. If they don't wanna do it fine! find someone else.

Because it isn't the first time they shutdown, the did in 1995.. didn't effect anyone really no major change either. Think it happened another time too. It not like it shuts down all the way just not essentials like post office and what not.

Some of us Americans DO care! Personally, it sickens me that while our men and women in the services put their lives on the line without pay, our government leaders still get a check. Most of them are millionaires already. Why do they need paid? Are their bills and households more important than ours. It's evident who they really care about-number one! We, as a nation, should be appalled by that. However, most people don't care until it affects them personally. We should be informing our government officials that if they are paid while servicemen, vets, and the elderly, most of whom I might add, have already paid for their retirement during their working lives while being fed the lie that if they paid into social security, they would be cared for in old age, that we, their true bosses, will be remembering their actions at voting time. Then, we need to do what we say and clean house! My 85 year-old grandmother will be worrying her poor self sick that her s.s. check won't come next month. She deserves better. She worked hard in a factory all her adult life only to have her pension cut, no cost of living increases for two years(even though the cost of living has gone up), and now this. My grandpa died at 58 years-old and she has been managing on her own all this time. Who is going to be the voice for these people? We aren't talking about hand-outs to lazy losers here. ALL American's should be *&%ed. Hope and change- yeah right!!!

I am not even going to try to lie or sugar coat anything...

I hope the Government does shut down. I hope people are then forced to take care of themselves and depend on themselves. It is my hope that through this process the overall population figures out how inflated our Government is, and how much of it is truly not needed.
