The European Union is a corrupt, totalitarian beast gobbling up the independent and free nations of ancient Europe. We want a Europe of traditional nations, free and independent, not a dictatorial and bureaucratic European Superstate. Britain will become a mere province, ruled from Brussels, with no influence whatsoever and no control over its own affairs rather than what we have had for 1000 years - Freedom as an independent country.

THE EUROPEAN UNION’S new Constitutional Treaty will give Brussels complete power over Britain. This latest treaty will create a huge United States of Europe which will have the power to over-rule any law passed by our elected politicians at Westminster. It already costs Britain £1,250,000 per hour to be a member of the European Union. That’s £450 a year for each man, woman and child living in our country, and now on top of this, Labour wants to sign away our freedom to politicians in Germany and
France. This madness has got to stop before it’s too late. Blair has betrayed us to Brussels Over the last two decades, successive Labour and Conservative Governments have surrendered control of British
industry, social policy, agriculture, fishing, commerce and the environment to the bureaucrats of the European Union. Once Blair signs this Constitution, it will pass the power of proposing any new laws
from our Westminster Parliament to the European Union Council in Brussels and once done, it will be IRREVERSIBLE.
The new larger European Union will mean that Britain will have
even less of an influence than we do now. By joining the European Union we will loose:

The pound as the currency of the United Kingdom;
Our right to set our own levels of taxation;
Control of our armed forces;
Administer our own economy, etc.

TIME TO SAY ‘NO’!
After nearly a thousand years of independence and freedom, this country faces becoming a mere ‘province’ in a Federal
European Empire. Every day that goes by the politicians continue to transfer more of our sovereignty and freedoms to
unelected bankers and bureaucrats in Brussels! The trading bloc we joined in 1973 called the EEC has now changed into
the European Union. The job of the EU now is to turn Europe into a single political state! Don’t take our word for it, listen
to what Joshka Fischer, former German Foreign Minister had to say in the Times (26/11/98): “The top priority is to turn the
EU into a single political state.”
Britain at present sends nearly 2 MILLION POUNDS PER HOUR to the EU in direct contributions! That’s almost 50
MILLION POUNDS PER DAY, and this at a time when our schools and hospitals are crumbling and our pensioners are
forced to scrimp and save! And all we get in return is masses of totalitarian dictats and petty laws undermining our
freedoms and destroying our culture and heritage.
We want a great friendship with our European neighbours. The real ‘anti-Europeans’, are the ones determined to strip the
unique peoples of Europe of their democracy and freedom and hand their destiny over to unelected bankers and Eurocrats.
All we oppose (like all the peoples of European countries) is a European Superstate in which our economy will be geared
to subsidising the poor regions in the rest of the EU while ignoring our own needy. Britain is the world’s fourth largest
economy - of course we can stand on our own two feet and run our own affairs once again. We will lose everything if we
allow the politicians to drag us into Europe. The vast majority of the British people are opposed to the EU and the
EURO - it’s time to say NO to the EU superstate and YES to British freedom and independence!
NO to the euro - YES to keeping the pound!

I didn't realize that Tony Blair was so hot on the EU.
Is that for real? I would have thought otherwise.

the only thing that is wrong with the EU is the idea of European superstate. Hitler wanted a united federal Europe and the EU is basicly Hitler's dream.

Many Americans understand and support Iraqi Freedom because of the leadership provided by Mr. Blair, and many of us would feel much safer if Mr. Blair occupied the White House.

It has nothing to do with the EU!
Of course Blair would like to be EU president, but so do most European Leaders

Y'know, Rusty, it was a pleasure agreeing with you on the BNP thread - do we really have to return to this tired cycle of your bizarre ranty claims about the EU, and my demands for evidence?

Seriously, I'm feeling generous and recklessly curious today. Put aside hyperbole and strange biblical prophecies regarding twelve crowns/stars/other shiny shapes which might be on a flag: what has the EU actually done which leads you to believe it's the Big Bad?

Oh, and I'm in the middle of fabricating evidence of infinite's past misdeeds which I will leak to the media while claiming the moral high ground - vote StrangeLands!

I doubt the EU is that bad, what evidence suggest that the EU is going to be worse then the Third Reich and the Soviet Union? The EU constitution hasn't even been signed yet, so don't start running for the hills just yet

(i recently went on holiday and when i arrived at the airport everyone went through the non-EU immigration stations - thought i'd share that as i thoght it was funny)

we need europe and they need us, but there is no need for the EU,

independent alliances would provide the unity we need without the intergration that threaten's our national identities

could you imgine: the money, nations put into the independent alliances would go straight to the projects they want, without the mass buracracy of the EU

there would be more money going into the projects directly without being filtered down by the EU fat cats

I cannot understand the problem that people have with the EU. In the UK we have no say over how our tax monies are spent anyway, and any being sent off into Europe will make very little difference to us on the ground here. The idea that we have any kind of "Democracy" is a myth to begin with...

As for funny airport stories- watching some Italians trying to keep calm with a touring American couple in the "EU National" line at the airport earlier on this year... "Yes, but we are AMERICAN...", "But zis is for EEE OO!", "BUT WE'RE AM-ER-I-CAN..."

I think you made your statement pretty clear. NOw let's just wait to see people start thinking on their own, IF , they read carefully the contents of those links, they'll understand what are you talking about.

The EU could be a great thing, if Men wasn't so selfish. Politicians only have a single dream in their minds...

At the end of the day, I believe Europe, with 480,000,000 people, is simply too big to operate as a single, fair, genuinely representative democracy.

Either it would be centrally run leaving whole nations disenfranchised, or it would comprise multiple layers of regional, national and federal parliaments, councils and committees, not all of which are elected by the people. Most people wont even speak the same language as the politicians who are supposed to represent them, or be able to fairly consider the pan-European ramifications of policy or argument.

Talking of policy, there IS no policy on offer by federalists, other than further integration and federalization. There is no clear UNIFIED vision of what the EU is supposed to end up as. We have no idea what a unified foreign policy might be, or what the political left or right may look like. Tony may have his "vision", but unless that vision is shared by ALL the other European leaders (and clearly it is not), he will not be in a position to implement it.

It is the height of foolishness to embark on such an enterprise without first having a definite, clear end in mind.
