Ouch! I have an acquaintance who is on the Borders "closing team" spreading the good word from store to store. I'll miss the book stores when they are gone forever. I'll still have memories of my childhood trying to sneak a glance at the Playboys in the upper racks at my local newsstand/bookstore.

Yeah and I'll miss them too. I had just upgraded my Member Rewards.
I don't read Playboy or National Geographic anymore. I grew tired of viewing exotic places I'll never get to visit.

Corsi reminds me of some of the posters here and other places on the web...

Here's what Newsweek found regarding one of his other smear pieces about Obama.

Jerome Corsi's "The Obama Nation" is a mishmash of unsupported conjecture, half-truths, logical fallacies and outright falsehoods.

Despite its place near the top of The New York Times' nonfiction bestseller list, where it has been riding high for the past six weeks, Jerome Corsi's "The Obama Nation" is not a reliable source of facts about Obama.

Corsi cites opinion columns and unsourced, anonymous blogs as if they were evidence of factual claims. Where he does cite legitimate news sources, he frequently distorts the facts. In some cases, Corsi simply ignores readily accessible information when it conflicts with his arguments. Among the errors we found: ...

I expect the same with this new piece of crap. It's widely reported that Corsi is a lying sack of excrement.

Newsweek lost me a couple of years ago along with TIME. No offense. I am more inclined to trust those who report and investigate from outside the realm of the MSM outlets these days. Kind of like choosing radio stations that are still locally based, independent and staffed by DJ's who actually get to choose their own music to play.

The usual suspects will go to great lengths to discredit Corsi. The man is a catalyst for sure. I give you the synopsis when I get my autographed copy. If the book sucks, I'll give you the book

BTW sourcing anything that is totally iron clad with regards to Obama's past is nearly an impossible task because of the concealed nature of any concrete physical evidence. Plenty of first hand accounts though. They have been employed on both sides of the argument in lieu of anything else.

Eh. We'll see where this goes. I'm growing more interested exposing Obama as a charlatan more than anything else. I suppose he'll just end up being an eligible charlatan in our history books. Audacity of hope ...
Audacious certainly describes our current POTUS.

No offense taken.
I don't particularly like Newsweek either, but the article illustrates what's wrong with Corsi's "journalism" style. Namely, it's a lot of suspicion, rumor and innuendo with very little real evidence to back it up. If he could somehow arrange for some scary music to play while one is reading the book and insert a few YouTube videos to round it out, I believe he would. Jerome Corsi is every bit the master manipulator that many of 'you'
accuse Obama of being.

Obama's no saint. Never has been, to me. He's always been a politician and as such, I expect him to be a bit slimy by my standards. And I believe he is. But the drug that Jerome Corsi pushes is nothing but slime. And his readers eat it up. It's every bit as sickening as the Obama-sucking is to you.

I'll take the synopsis. You can keep the book. Whether it sucks or not.

I think if we looked into many people's pasts with as much scrutiny as has been focused on Obama, we might find some pretty colorful stuff. I know, if you looked into my past.... WHEW! you would be blown completely away! Let's just say I'm not going to be running for public office any time soon. My point is that I'm a GOOD person. I'm a better person than Obama, in my unbiased opinion.
But my past doesn't accurately portray the person I am today. And if I were to become a public figure, there's a lot about my past that I'd want to keep out of the public's eye. My past does not represent me. And neither does Obama's.

So, even if he did practice Islam, do coke, sleep with a man, hang out with socialists and take a trip to Pakistan when he shouldn't have, that isn't who he is today. And I happen to think that what you see is what you get with him. Aside from being a lawyer and a politician, I really like the guy and I don't buy that all this crap about his past has any relevance on the state of his presidency or the issues in the US.

I think that no matter what "evidence" is provided, the birthers are not going to believe it. Even if someone on ATS was in Hawaii, knew where Barack lived and worked, saw and talked to him, knew his former doctor, they would not believe it.

Did I hear him say that the birth certificate wasn't the main part of his campaign? WHAT? Is he for real? That's ALL we've heard from him!
He knows how to say China and Iran, but what more has he said about them? I hate to agree with Karl Rove (heave) but Trump is a complete JOKE!

5 or 10 years ago Newsweek would be the outlet investigating and breaking this story. These former news agencies and former reporters have had the ground literally swept out from underneath them in recent years. Newsweek changed their whole format and climbed in bed with Candidate Obama and has kept the covers warm ever since.

Now, regarding Obama, how do we really know who he is today? His actions speak far louder than his rhetoric. How do we know that his currently ideology is any different than it was throughout his college years and the years immediately after. The man has maintained a very cozy relationship with his community organizing roots and the leaders therein. His ties to organized labor are mind numbing as is the open access that he has granted them to the White House. Richard Trumka is a prime example.

I don't think the man has changed at all. My core values are still the same 20 years after college a wife and two kids later. Believe it or not I've gotten more conservative since the birth of my children.
I don't like where this nation is heading. Surprise Surprise. We are in trouble on multiple fronts BH. As our economy continues to degrade, everything else will follow. If our Nation's credit rating takes a big hit as predicted the cost of lending and borrowing money will skyrocket as will everything attached to it. Obama is oblivious. He can't see the forest through the trees. His myopia is alarming with regards to the future health of our nation.

I can dig deeper into his radical Czar appointees like Cass Sunstein. That man should not be allowed within 1000 yards of the White House or any policy making authority whatsoever. I judge Obama by the company that he keeps and has kept. He is a slithering politician just like most and will not think twice about exercising his powers of coercion. He just threatened to cut off the Texas TV network who tossed him a couple of hardball questions recently and now CBS has admitted to withholding the edited content of Obama's recent of off Mic. true color, honesty moment. I wonder why? Perhaps they are afraid that the White House will cut off their access to candidate Obama as CBS struggles to survive. That would suck for CBS. BTW Obama thinks many Americans are "Slugs". Its time for the media goons to stop covering Obama's ass and get back to just the facts reporting. Enough of the White House Insider mentality.

I expect a little candor with any politician. I don't respect the extent that some will go to conceal it.

Sorry about the soap box rant.

Hey anyone know if Robert Gibbs ever took the job offer from Facebook? Looks like Obama is getting real cozy with them as of late.

You disagree with his policies, it's clear. I understand. I felt the same way when George Bush was president. I KNEW he was going to run this country into the ground. (And he almost succeeded) I'm not going to defend Obama's policies. Some I agree with and some I don't. But he is not the only one in charge. In fact, he is a figurehead. No president getting into office is going to be able to turn this ship around. We are in for some rough waters ahead and it's NOT Obama's fault OR George Bush's fault. There's a LOT more to the way this country is run than the president. He is just stuck in a whirlwind of entropy. That sucker's coming down. This country is falling apart and NO ONE can save it. Blaming Obama is just something to do to pass the time.

Obama is oblivious. He can't see the forest through the trees. His myopia is alarming with regards to the future health of our nation.

I'm not sure at all that he's oblivious. I think he's very aware... He's just powerless to do anything about it, as ANY president would be.

Oh, I saw that. He whispered, “Let me finish my answers next time we do an interview, all right?”

How dare he! I'm surprised the interviewer didn't run home crying.

You think that's a problem? Jesus! You must be VERY sensitive if that would bother you. You should see my husband when he gets interrupted! He does a lot more than whisper. Is this really an issue with you? That the president wants to finish his answers? REALLY? What? He's supposed to be a cuddle bunny?

The critique of Obama gets more interesting every day. It's like a study in weird human behavior. No one ever accused the MSM of protecting Bush when they didn't show him flipping the bird on TV. I don't think I've EVER seen a raw presidential interview on TV...

Obama unclipped his microphone with no smile in sight, and tersely warned, “Let me finish my answers next time we do an interview, all right?”

So who appointed Pres Obama Manners Police! How dare he demand that next time we do an interview the reporter wait for the interviewee to finish an answer before butting in! I hope that reporter's next interview with the pres doesn't start off like this...

Just before a campaign speech in Illinois, Mr Bush said to his running mate Dick Cheney: "There's Adam Clymer, major league asshole from the New York Times."

From CNN:

Possibly-serious Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is giving few details about the investigation he claims to have launched in Hawaii to get to the bottom of where President Obama was born, but the business mogul told CNN Thursday Americans will be "very surprised" by what he has found.

"We're looking into it very, very strongly. At a certain point in time I'll be revealing some interesting things," Trump said on CNN's American Morning.

Trump first claimed earlier this month he had sent investigators to Obama's home state in an effort to find out if the president was indeed born there, as he says he was and several media organization's independent investigations have confirmed.

"I have people that have been studying it and they cannot believe what they're finding," Trump told NBC then.

But Trump has since offered few details about the on-the-ground investigation and, in the interview with CNN Thursday, wouldn't specifically say if it had uncovered new details.

"You'll be very surprised," he said when asked by CNN's Ali Velshi if his investigators have found anything.

Bold emphasis is mine.

politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com...-155829

Come on Donnie, release the info....or are you waiting for the season finale of Celebrity Apprentice to reveal the details along with your decision to (not) run for POTUS.

I think that if he had truly found something damning, then he would have already released it. I believe that the "interesting", "surprising" information is only going to be interesting and surprising to birthers when his investigation reveals that Obama was born in Hawaii.

I think you're missing something. Its Obama and his adminstration's inability to rise above anything. After the Texas interview came this official response

Pfeiffer was asked by Time reporter Michael Scherer, “So will WFAA's Brad Watson get another interview one day?”

Instead of quickly taking the high road, Pfeiffer suggested that Watson may truly be out in the cold after irritating the president. And he did it by revealing yet another trick of Washington communications: playing one news outlet against its rival.

“Right around the time we do our next interview with @TIME. I am kidding ... or am I. @Newsweek is on the other line,” Pfeiffer responded.

Then his rapid silencing of the Philly reporter when he pressed Obama for an answer on our unauthorized actions in Libya

In March, just hours before Obama announced the attack on Libya, Philadelphia news reporter Jim Gardner was warned by Obama’s aides that he wouldn’t be taking any questions on that subject. Gardner asked anyway.

“I think as was already mentioned to you, I’m not going to comment beyond the statement that I made today,” Obama responded flatly.

That interview, which aired late on a Friday night, was buried beneath the news that Obama had ordered the strike. The White House had dodged another slew of potential headlines declaring that Obama had evaded a request to clarify the mission in Libya, but just barely.

God forbid Obama ever answer a question with an unscripted reply.
www.politico.com...

Just keep on blindly defending this administrations attempts to control and silence any and all who dare to ask simple questions.

The only thing I'm sensitive to is the deliberate manipulation of the media.

We got way off topic in this thread sorry about that. I have made similar statements in the thread specific to Obama's off microphone outbursts and his retaliation threats against reporters.

Outbursts? Asking to be allowed to finish is NOT an outburst!

Threats? Something on Twitter (clearly said tongue in cheek) is a threat?

Obama's having outbursts and making threats now?? You're sounding desperate in your exaggeration.

And yes, this is off topic and really stupid, IMO. It's much ado about nothing. I won't be joining in this insanity inthe other thread. Sorry.
